You must be using powered speakers.

Can you show how to hook up 2 tops & 1 sub to one channel (left)on the mixer and do the same thing on the (right) side of the mixing board consisting of two tops and one sub. Do you run 2 separate aux lines to the individual subs on individual channels then connect the two tops on each side?

they are not """"DJ"""" subwoofers they are PA subwoofers, youre just connecting them to a DJ controller

it's useful for small venues or venues where sound is an issue, keeping the bass at a point so neighbours don't get upset.. Venues with sound meters also, running dsp on a venue system and using a compressor is really handy when the venue has a system to stop to much noise.

Penso che questo modo di collegare il sub sia il modo migliore. Grazie mille.

One feature he did not mention ,perhaps his brother failed to tell him, is the increase in volume you get from your main speakers when you use the active sub woofer to process the incoming signals from the mixer and send only the mid and highs to your main speakers! Because these main speakers do not have to handel the bass signals they have more volume output! And trust me its nice to have that extra voluume! Also with a good crossover in the sub or subs the bass should not be a problem regarding volume or muddy bass! But having said this i think this is a excellent video tutor!

Strongly recommend using a 90° angle cable to plug into that so it won't be jutting out from the back of your mixer... Because I can see that inadvertently getting bumped into or snapped off in the inevitable moving that happens behind the booth. Also, if these are strictly for monitoring purposes It kind of seems like you're really splitting hairs about the audio quality... All you want it to do is help you keep your next track in time more than anything as opposed to being audiophile good... Lastly.... It's an awesome deal for anybody who can pick one up for free (none if us regular Joe's)...but $229 This is in no shape form or fashion a budget unit bro.... That's quite overpriced And especially so because there are plenty of other options for $100 or less that does just as well or better.
@ajwillay6888
@ajwillay6888 Месяц назад
Also, it's tough to really judge delay in a gym because the echo Factor is going to affect how well you can tell.... But watching the video the delay seemed almost imperceptible 👍🏾

I have my doubts about this as this does not take into account your crossover signals. Sure you can set a crossover level on the bass but what about the top?? It's gonna get a full signal on a separate line like that

Lately I’ve been running mono out of my dj mixer and using booth output to my subs for the same effect. Essentially the booth knob becomes the bass knob.

This was super helpful! I have a question - I am doing my first DJ gig, I'm using the DDJ-FLX4 which has a dual RCA output. The venue is providing a Yama EMX512sc mixer. Is it okay to plug in by using a dual RCA to single 1/4inch cable?
@costanzaaaa

how did you do it? did you get rca to dual 1/4 inch that you ran into the mixer directly? And do you also hook up your board to a laptop too?

I ended up buying a dual RCA to dual XLR. The laptop didn't need to be plugged into the mixer, just to the controller itself!

You should never run a full-range signal into your top cabinets when running subs. You don't want different sized drivers in different positions running the same frequencies. And it's a terribly inefficient use of the top cabinets.

@@Sweetlove.entertainment Plenty of bad advice in the video. Never connect anything but a microphone to a mic pre-amp. If you hit the phantom power switch and you have something other than a mic connected to the mic pre-amp, you'll be sending voltage back to the source, and that won't be good. As far as aux fed subs, it's been a hot and cold subject over the years. IMO, it's something left to a pro sound engineer running sound for a live band at a concert or nightclub. For a DJ running sound on the dance floor at a wedding, totally unnecessary. And if you're going to do it, you'll want to use a mixer with sliders in a sub-mix section, not knobs that can be difficult to get to in a hurry on a very small formal mixer.

If you don't have fly points and the top of your speakers are fairly flat you can use strong outdoor use velcro strips (15lb+ hold). Trim them to size and they are very secure. Only thing is there isn't adjustments up and down like it is here when you attach using a fly point on the bracket. Mounting these lights on the poles could blind your guests lol
