Welcome to my Stone Sculpture RU-vid channel! I am Veronika Bianchi, a passionate sculptor specialized in Carrara white marble. I am happy to share videos that show the process behind my sculptures. Each video is personally created and edited by me.
My artistic journey is set to tackle even grander undertakings as I set out to create monumental marble sculptures. You can expect to witness every step of this process here on this channel. If my work captures your interest, I am sincerely grateful.
I also have the pleasure of occasionally posting videos showing other sculptors at work, as well as content related to the world of stone sculpture.
OMG, I just found your channel,,, your work is so beautiful, you are a fantastic sculptor. I now feel super inspired to start a bigger work. Thanks for sharing! 😇
@@rossfletcher4149 really? I have spent there few months as well. Now they have to leave the place, the town didn’t give them a permission to be there.
@@rossfletcher4149 yes Pierre finished it and shipped to Switzerland, unfortunately he has had health issues since and doesn’t make sculptures since. The whole studio should move to another place still in Carrara. But I’ve heard Lucio waits and doesn’t want to move yet…
@veronikabianchi Thank you so much for the reply, Pierre was there every day I was and he was so nice and encouraging. I also met Cristina, I had a lesson from her, she was really nice to me. I'm in Australia and still sculpting as much as I can. Much love to you Veronika.
Always such great work! How tall is your tallest figurine you've sculpted? And did you have to cut or sculpted it in 1/2 or 1/3 to ship it? Just curious, because if I ever had the money I'd have you sculpt a tall angel for me! 😁 love your work!
@@rory7720 Thank you Rory. The tallest was 310 cm , (10feet 2 inches), and it was shipped by a truck whole. No need to cut in parts. The pedestal was 1 m from a different block, so together it was 4 m. A colleague of mine did 4 m tall sculpture and he shipped is my ship in a crate whole… it’s doeable. Probably 5 or 6 meters could pose problems.. I am looking forward for sculpting an angel for you :)
Yep, Just went through that nightmare myself last week. We stood a 40,000 lb. block that was 11 feet high up on end. I had the eyes of the chokers right, but it kept slipping around to the front and did what it did on yours - wanted to pick up instead of stand up. Took a couple tries for us too
This video possesses a separate and complimentary power to the sculpture itself, and explores the intimate relationship between the artist and her work. In fact it inspired me to assemble a song. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-z4IhuQcgY_g.html I believe in a very Platonic sense that the work of art pre-exists its material rendering and that the artist is more conduit or medium than whole-cloth initiator. So I happen to take Michelangelo's assertion quite literally, that he is on a salvific mission to free the angel trapped within the stone. This is not to trivialize the honed craft of these gifted artists. On the contrary, it elevates their function to an even higher calling. Just my two cents...
that so cool i love it feels to carv rocks but i can't make any thing good i never got to ware i can think it and make it but i alwas wanted to, people always say that arts always get paid but i was always afrad no one would buy my art cuz i suck lol and evan if i was good i was afrad no one would buy do people buy and is it good or bad or is it hit and miss some times is it somthing that can replace a 9 to 5
I dont understand one thing how did u put togather big back part to face part? Its plaster material or something another? Looks like plaster but it very hard to glue plaster parts like this especially such big weight.
@@eddiemunson7931 Hi Eddie, yes the form was thick plaster material, and inside a thin layer of white silicone. This was the “negative” part. I have then again filled the silicone parts with plaster to form the “positive” part, and I glued them together with plaster from inside. Am I explaining it clearly? I know it looks messy…
@@veronikabianchi im understood your method, but usually simple gypsum have freezes to fast, and to make a thin form on silicon layer with any reinforcement so hard cause of time. Thats why i asked, my first thought was u have used gypsum putty cause it freezes at least after 20-30 minutes, and u have a chanse to form it as u wish. Anyway if u used simple gypsum then it was very confusing for u, i guess 😊. Btw me need to try this method, cause my sculpture at 110sm height has something about 45kg weight, and maybe i can make it thiner as u does. Also i do my sculpture with filling, i have cut hands to fill them separetely from body, then i glue them with armature and simple gypsum to the body.
Hmm beautiful sculpture..but angels don't look like this😅. That is why when ever they appear, first thing that they say is don't be afraid. Just roasting..beautiful.
