Great video! Thank for this professional clear review! I'm really curious if this dock is silent? I just got a dock (Dell wd22tb4).. But this unit is way too loud for recording audio in my home studio.
Question, for those strobe lights are they illegal? I want to do this but I want just amber and white and I'm in New Jersey and it's just used for safety on the highway
We all talk about the build. But how about the data software?. Is it safe. They ask for cameras function. To voice. To photo. And more. Do they sell it off to peopel
Phillips hue app is more straightforward, the Govee app takes getting use to with the amount of options. The lights are very similar, but based on price and overall satisfaction Govee is definitely the winner.
I use both and like the price of Govee but remote access of the hue. I am a firefighter and am away from home for extended periods of time. I cannot view my Govee hydrometers when not on the same WiFi. I can turn my hue lights on and off when at work and monitor temperature with my HomePod mini. I want to be able to view my Govee products when at work, do you have a solution?
Coming across this vid 1 year late, but hopefully this comment reaches you 🙌 I'm curious to hear how the KVM switch would work with this setup, since that's the exact use case that I have. All the streaming accessories you have, that I'd love to use on both windows desktop and macbook.
Thank you for the video! Great explanation. I have a question. I currently have full hue setup for my living room, but I upgraded my tv to 77 inch and it's hard to find philips gradient strip in Malaysia. If I were to buy Govee T2 as my tv backlight, I should be able sync both systems with my tv, right?
How often do Govee smart light bulbs get unlinked? I have both Hue and Lifx bulbs and I almost never have an issue with Hue lights not responding, but I can't tell you how many times I've had to hard reset / set up my Lifx bulbs.
I never had Govee unlink (have about ten strips, bulbs and neon lights). When I changed my router it took 1 minute to switch all the lights to the new router via the app. Very easy! Lifx is a nightmare! Govee is so easy, especially since it works of Bluetooth if/when you loose WiFi😁
cant believe nobody made it this clear and simple, was looking at the hue but all i see is tv stuff I dont mind getting it cause of the bridge but there are no special effects like govee, the hue isnt what i thought it would be. govee got clips where you can mount them anywhere hue only got for the tv. looks like govee are for aesthetics while hue is for movie watchers. thanks man.
I have Hue and Govee and both are equal. Govee is a excellent lighting system and in some aspects superior to Hue. I've been using Hue for a few years but only their white bulbs because I didnt think that I would like the mood lighting. I decided to try mood lighting a couple of months ago and I am totally impressed by how they transform the entertainment and home living experience into something truly extraordinary. Now all my lighting is mood. In my opinion Govee is a more intelligent purchase than Hue because they offer a wide range of excellent products that are much less expensive than Hue. I love Hue but their products are overly expensive and eventually have to be replaced when they cease functioning. Buying mood lighting is addictive and one has to know when to stop. There is nothing that I want in the lighting department now because my setup is how I want it and spending more cash would be a waste. I want the Hue sync box but its hdmi is 2.0 which is a downgrade for me, but if Hue comes out with a 2.1 box I'm in. With Govee's excellent products there really is no need to purchase Hue unless you just want to be in their ecosystem.
The opposite of 'but' for the Phillips hue bridge would be that it is very stable and when you broadband goes down it still works ! 😀 - I'm going to have both but thought I'd share. Thanks
One day you will crash with a view obstructing object in front of your face, while having it recorded. Thus making an accident your fault. Unless it’s clearly their fault. Do this on a track or in an area that is secure and have fun. Open public roads are not the place to be having anything cover your view of what’s going on. People drive like idiots a lot.
My opinion will be based on light switches. I don't always want to have to say what lights I want on or off. I want the option to manually turn them 0n/Off.
I had high hopes for this dock and it came up short! When connected to my work PC (Lenovo T490S), only one of my two 4K monitors will run at a time. But when I connect that computer to the Lenovo universal Thunderbolt 4 dock, it runs them both at 4K/30. When I connect the TS4 to my work Mac, it runs one monitor at 4K/60 and one at 4K/30. Even though the Mac is capable of pushing two 6K monitors at 60 hz. Very disappointing to see that this dock doesn’t live up to the hype.
