Turtle WoW's Premiere Reporter Orc, Vrograg Fishslayer at your disposal. I make news broadcasts in old machinima style to bring news about the Turtle WoW private server community. I hold up only the highest standards of ethical journalism. If you have any news to report please reach out. I love giving a spotlight to small community made gaming projects as well, so make sure to check my livestreams for those too!
I'd prefer not to since I'm still investigating. Signs point to recently leaks being unreliable because any seeming admission was given while one of the people speaking was the hacker, essentially meaning it was a "gun to the head moment". However I'm reviewing what I can in the leaks to see if anything is admitted in a situation that wasn't at the point of am active threat.
I do have a link to you though, because I know the Torta = Shenna crowd are so calm and rational. ;-) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dQw4w9WgXcQ.htmlsi=goEQaAzlSEIRexNq
@@VrogragFishslayer I don't think my self to be in the Torta = Shenna crowd, I was just curious that is why I asked you and not anyone else. I have great respect for your work. Thank you for your time.
Hey, I play on and off and I love the server. Could you say briefly what hack happened, please? Did the server just go down, or have accounts been compromised? Thanks.
Credentials were leaked but they are still encrypted. Everyone chat logs are likely public though. That's the extent of the damage directly to the player.
I think it was quiet nice to see how supportive the community is. During the time there have been so many messages about understanding the struggle for the dev team from the players site. Turtle WoW is love ❤
The files dump was interesting to say the least. Shenna and Crogge have some interesting leadership qualities. Player community is good, but hopefully they don't lose out as much what happened with Elysium.
Will they ever implement crypto inside the server, maybe the blockchain network to function as a server backend? That would be funny, since they put S&P500s e stuff like that in-game, which is really funny xd
I’ve been craving some twow, sod has got me face palming as the progression gets more and more unreasonable for a part time player like me. Hope the twow world stays intact
I'm still holding my tongue on speculation, but there certainly are people from within the private server community that might not like turtle wow and even people from within the community that might not like the direction or the moderation used on the server. Blizard certainly has cause but they stand to lose the most of it's found out. We shall see.
Started twow a year ago ish, have had a 5 month break, just came back to play a day before the servers went down😅 Sry to the peeps that didn't get to play this weekend, it's just my luck lol
When all you wanted to do was play games with your friends on the weekend. :*( No for real, TY to the entire dev and GM team working tirelessly to bring the server back online. We <3 you all!
I do question the market news segment. The last time this came through the in-game radio, it went on about how Black Lotus was sitting at 50g - Meanwhile it maxed out at 9g on the AH, with multiple posts, none exceeding 10g, and going down to around 7g on TA. No-where near the announced 50g. It's possible that such a segment is intended to be completely satire, but that's not really how that segment is portayed.
I use data from Wowauctions, which is usually accurate. Might be you're looking at telabim versus nordanaar prices, which is about that level of different.
@@Reelix When he says the prices for Horde or Alliance that's the TA AH as they are a combined AH on Nord. I find Market Watch has a ton of info, especially when I hear it in game it can be easy sometimes to miss some of the details (I've totally done the reverse of hearing TA stuff and then being like ooohhhh not my server lol)
I think blizz is behind the hacks. Based on what they did to the twow youtube channel. They are jealous they didn't make an unreal 5 version so they will bully twow. Conspiracy, maybe. The timing is what makes me think it is blizz.
So.. I started playing twow last fall, played like 5 months, have had like a 5 month break now, came back 5 days ago, gpt to play ONE day, and then the whole thing i taken sown?? Am I the bringer od this bad luck!??
I hope you are working on another investigative report after todays events. Torta deleting messages and giving more details about the breach in other discord servers etc.
While I think maybe from the higher point of view of the corporation that might be true I do think that there are likely blizzard employees who are very passionate still about world of Warcraft and some who might even appreciate turtle wow.
No point in looking for a response from Blizzard. The turtle 2.0 announcement was considered an act of war and literally exposed Blizzard’s incompetence, lack of passion and commitment to innovation of the game. They’ve been deservingly humiliated. This is the equivalent of a cartel encroaching on government territory. Now that turtle is seen as a threat, they will either match their innovation to maintain control, or do everything possible to eliminate the threat.
You said it, however as a journalist I do follow the SPJ code of ethics, so in the interest of trying to be impartial and to properly fill out a story, anyone or any entity with allegations being levied at them should be contacted for comment.
Im guessing that blizzard only let turtle wow do their own thing just to take everything from them after theyve released the unreal engine version. My question is, does turtle wow have something in their hand to counter any lawsuit blizzard is going to throw at them? It was kinda stupid of them to come out of the spotlight. The saying goes "if you pirate something keep it for yourselves" I hope twow has something up their sleves from any lawsuits or ive just wasted countless times playing there.
I have spoken to Turtle wow officials about this topic before. They have two layers of protection. One in that they host their project in jurisdictions that essentially ignore c&d orders / lawsuits. Two in that they have multiple back up servers and hosting that makes the project more resilient to corporate or other antagonist attacks.
yeah, I struggle to remain neutral with such wild abuse of copyright systems, and I have made formal inquiries with the Activision Blizzard to see if they have a formal response. I'll be interested if they reply.
