The woodwinds of my ancestors. My uncles served in WW2 and some died at Anzio and others at Juno beach. I’m born in the US of Canadian parents and all my siblings are Canadian and I have dual citizenship. I remember as young lad seeing the bag pipes play at the memorial to Canadian war dead in Europe. On many of those tombstones or on the monument I saw my last name or my mothers maiden name. It was bagpipes that played for the ceremony. Celts. We were told the stories of those that never returned.
I'm Irish, but love the pipes. Two questions: can someone provide the names of the songs played here - seems like there were two pieces. Also is it traditional to stand and play in circle 🔵 🔴?
Hearing the Christmas music was nice. But when they broke out in The Green Hills Of Tyrol, tears hit me so fast that I had no chance to stop them.My love and pride in my ancestral homeland.
