We are a NHS Foundation Trust. Foundation trusts operate independently of the Department of Health, but remain part of the National Health Service. This gives us greater freedom and more formal links with patients and staff. We are accountable to them through an elected and appointed Council of Governors.
I always make sure Patients are kept safe while I visit all Wards on my Learning Disability Ward Rounds and as a Ward Support Volunteer on AMB. Keeping patients safe is a very important job everyone does around the Trust and I see this happening while I am on the Wards.
Is that hospital in Scarborough or York? I remember going to Scarborough Hospital when I was 4 years old, and would like to see how the ward has changed since then.
This is really helpful. I've worked in care before for 4 years, but it was in elderly care homes & the environment did not suit me at all. I left the industry. Currently looking at training to get back, but this time I need to work in a hospital. The environment looks a lot more suitable for me. Thank you for sharing this.
