I can't seem to get the trick of the 3rd jump I either fall off the ledge or land square into the barbed wire. Looks like a regular jump but the distance seems suitable for only a running jump.

You have no idea how glad I was that the ticket gate was open. I have no idea how flipmaps work and I didn't realise that was what you were doing. I was following along and saw the gate was open in your video and panicked that I didnt do the same thing exactly right hahah
I almost puked seeing this on wayner stream because it seemed so funny at the time. Not that I was laughing that hard - by that point in the night I was mostly heaving whenever something funny happened
Flipmap triggers. Google it for a better explanation but stepping on (or not stepping on) certain tiles causes other parts of the map to change, for example getting the drill back to the top of the shaft. It's possible to softlock the game in this level simply by not stepping on certain tiles.
I always used the other shortcut. I normally wouldn’t cheat during gameplay, but this level suffers from very poor conveyance. You just never know where to go nor what to do in this stage.
The jump back to the rock from the crank room is probably the hardest part. I managed everything pretty easily up until there and its just never happening.
Long term player here - looking at this jump, has anyone tried keeping FORWARD held when landing for that minute acceleration she's given? That usually saves a fall from a jump that *shouldn't usually be quite possible*
There are 400 "glitchless" speedrun videos for every ONE video of someone speed running in a way literally anyone is going to be able to replicate. Banana jumps and frame perfect twist backflips onto exact pixels etc etc.😒
1:02 WOW. I didn't know Lara could do that jump. Because of the angle of the jump, it didn't seem very credible to me. It almost seems like a lie hahahaha
This is useful for the remaster trophy. Although I first did it in 1:20 because I went under the crane. When I played the originals I just thought that area was for the secret items, glad I no longer have to do this level in full
I was trying this way but couldnt do it. I found a video that you can do it to the left instead, but I finished at 42 seconds. This one is 20! (I managed 34 with this.) Wow. I tried to jump over the railing many times and failed so I thought I was doing it wrong, hence looking on YT.
Looking at these speedruns and practicing them before the remasters are coming with its timed trophies lol. That last jump definitely is not possible, well at least on the PS1 version. I've noticed certain jumps on objects or shortcuts, or glitches through objects on speedruns work easily on the PC version on videos I've seen but not on the PS1 version. Example thames warf. Not the first jump in start. But the next jump to go through the fence and onto the other side with barbed wire. Hopefully they change all these designs with improvements on the objects and things to jump on with easier access shortcuts on the consoles when the remastress come out. Or it'll be a pain to speedrun for the trophy😅

I was practically a baby & it took me ages to even realize that there was a place to go after the first room. we were all stuck there like "okay, the tiger's dead, so what are we supposed to do now?"
