When refuelling,the tankerman is in charge on the fuel flat. He & the engineer on the receiving vessel determine when & how to run the fuel job. Ive had mates try to get me off the flat to assist his crew humping stores to their galley. Nothing doing.I'm passing gas here & have to be able to shut it down immediately when necessary.

Yeah I just spent my last 2 weeks while they were chipping the pilot house. Fun times trying to listen to traffic with earplugs in and a needle gun and deck crawler going at the same time. Oh the life of a Towboater.
