I'm about to do this job myself. I'm putting in Megan headers. Apparently it's easier to get the bolts (I'm not sure about replacing all of the studs) from the top and even the far rear one can come out from the top. But I'm sure I'll find out the hard way when I do it. Nothing is easy when doing old bolts and nuts on any car.
LOL. Every single "E46 M3 header installation video" never actually has any footage of anyone taking apart or installing the headers LOL. (I'm still looking) . To be fair this video doesn't say it's a "how to" video so this is an exception to the usual. Could you guys come and do mine for me? LOL. Thanks for the video and great sound clip guys I'm glad you got the headers on in the end.

Those plastic pieces are the oil pump gears, mine broke too and caused the top end to melt... they’re plastic because the oil pump pulses when it pumps and the plastic allows the gears to flex, if they were metal it would be too stiff and they would wear and strip fast
Are you sure that all it does is warms up the catalytic converters? Engine computer may be also periodically using it to calibrate the O2 sensors to what fresh air reading is at cold start for reference. It that case you are taking a risk to run lean or rich based on reading from O2 sensors that may drift with time and not to be precise. I hope you have done your research, I would like to hear from you about that, please.
He’s correct, it rushes air to the cats on cold start and makes your car lean out till it’s operation temperature. Once they fail it sounds like a jet turbine. And nice they’re mounted to the block. If the hose rots it creates a vacuum leak.
no problem,ik the front bumper is a different side bc a m3 is wider the a normal e46 but I'm not sure about he side skirts and the rear bumper but ik you can buy them online that will fit a e46 and be a m3 style. @@phineparcon8909
yes. double nut it then put your wrench on the nut closes to the block and they will back right out. and some of the studs will come off with the nut when you are taking them out.
honestly its all about what you are going to use it for. if you want to race people, ride on the track and go fast through trails the 450, if you just want something reliable, fun through trails and don't care about racing anyone then go with the 400. but they are both fun atvs.
i sadly do not have the atvs anymore and regret it everyday lol. it was a amazing bike with power in all rpm ranges. my brother had a 2017 yfz450 at the time with some modes and i aptly out ran him every time until vary top speed where he had maybe 2 mph on me.
@@joseph_clev4047 nice. I had a 17 yfz450r se for a bit and was very unimpressed with it and got rid of it. I had KTM 450xc quad before that and it was awesome. Ergos are 2nd to none. Does the DS feel like your sitting on a board with bars?(main gripe with yfz).
Looks like you forgot to put the top plate on top of the rubber mount, is that what happened? (I definitely did this when I reassembled everything upside down the first time I worked on my suspension…)
yes for sure, cats is one of the min things that makes a car quiet, so buying headers without cats it will make it a lot loader most important add horsepower lol.
@@ChannelAsh100 Get the DNA Motoring catback, its about $200, cheapest SS catback you'll find, fits right up and 30+lbs in weight savings! (stock exhaust weighs about ~55lbs, DNA motoring catback is about ~20lbs!!).. combined with Megan Racing headers and AR20 resonators you'll have such a roaring, flee flowing exhaust with little to no rasp for about $500 total!! I'm in process of removing the stock headers... but for a cut/cooper ring head gasket replacement.. thank god those nuts on the studs were copper, and weren't torqued too tight, but yeah the angle and clearance are an ABSOLUTE BITCH. Doing the VANOS rebuild and taking the cams off is EASIER, can't believe I'm saying that!!
I just changed the oil in my 2003 Raptor, and the guy at the ATV shop told me it takes 2 quarts. I have just over 3 quarts in it now. Your tank isn't aftermarket.
