I know Peter Cullen and Garry Chalk hated the line, but honestly, it feels justified when Optimus Prime says, "We will kill them all." Like this is just pure evil that needs to be wiped from the world. Attacking a civilian city for no other reason than their own pleasure and showing who is charge.

I love this ending, BUT: 1. I also like thinking it would have driven fans wild if Alfred makes eye contact, then end the film. Even though all the clues (autopilot, pearls, cave) add up. Just leave what happened to Bruce unconfirmed. Kind of how we're left wondering if the spinning top at the end of INCEPTION starts to wobble. 2. Another way to tell a different message is to end the film from Bruce's perspective. No visual of Bruce, but the camera sees Alfred nod and get up to leave, smiling. It would show Bruce hopefully achieved the peace Alfred (and presumably his parents) no doubt wanted for him.
