I'm probably not the ONLY one who got the CONNECTION between the LAST LINE in the Season 1 finale and the the LAST LINE in the Season 2 finale. Y'all got that, right? Season 1 ends with "My name is.." cut to "DAVE" (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6-mQxG1i358.htmlsi=lf3yO5tBZgFxng0S&t=149) and Season 2 ends with "Ain't no doubt about it, WE..." cut to "DAVE" (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ti0GIlJQAZI.htmlsi=QAN8fSD_HN08MSmC&t=254) Remember, GaTa's real name is "Dave". This change from "I" to "WE" symbolizes Dave's GROWTH and MATURITY from his immature and selfish tendencies, to accepting help and support and beginning to trust his circle of friends.
“you know the deal baby love hurts” with the perfectly timed fireworks exploding in the background is one of my favorite moments of television ever. just instantly made me start crying
The juxtaposition of this episode is just so good - Dave selfishly planning the performance around whatever gets clicks and gets the album going, and Gata just wanting to be a part of whatever Dave does. Dave absolutely needed to hear Gata tell him "You ain't never done one thing for me in the first place." Forces Dave to introspectively realize he's been treating Gata like an employee versus a friend like they've truly been. This whole eppy was great, especially the final sequence - nurture your friendships, people. "What am I supposed to do, inherently make music with you? Do my high school friends get verses?" No, Dave, but keep your friends close and realize they've been grinding as hard as you have to help YOU. Damn good finale.
This scene would move any and everybody I swear I didn’t expect it to be so emotional. It made me happy af when this episode dropped and was the perfect season finale.
In an era where we celebrate too much conflict, division and controversy in our entertainment -- this shit shone like the sun. We've all been GaTa and we've all be dicky at one time or another, imagine if we picked each other up like this once in a while.
