All in all, I’m getting more excited for getting my hands on the new edition and to see where it’s going to go. My biggest disappointment is the artwork going away, but that doesn’t alter the gameplay so I think I’ll be able to get over it.
I understand this is an old video, but how did the head swap go? Got some to incorperate into my Thousand Sons after finding some nice alternative heads. Going to turn one into a shaman since I have an extra Ahriman disc. What scale would be best, 28mm or 32 mm?
About the JO trait, the problem is that for that to activate, you need the priestess to kill someone and have a triple available at that moment. A rare occurence to say the least

This is great, Love this Podcast and I also enjoy it on RU-vid. I would say, maybe not starting off with Faction abilities for easy learning and also no twists. Use the common abilities, then introduce Faction abilities!

Follow up (as promised 😉) - "To the Walls" requires at least objective token exists within 1 hex of no one's territory. It cannot be scored if there are no objective tokens present there. More info: The best parallel in the FAQ to support this that I'm aware of is "Forbidden Ground" which cannot be scored if you hold 3 objective tokens in enemy territory while there are no objective tokens in your territory and no one's territory. There must be at least one objective present in those territories (and you must hold all of the objectives in the those territories).
Noob question but doesn't Vile Blood save a fighter if used at the right time? I've only played them once a while ago, but thought it gave -1 damage to the attack that would take someone out of action.
It cannot. I'll break down why. Here's the Combat Sequence and how it relates to Vile Blood - 1. Declare Attack action 2. Attack roll 3. Defence roll 4. Determine success 5. Deal damage >> Reaction window for Vile Blood. Damage has already been dealt. 6. Out of action check 7. Drive back 8. End of Sequence If the Reaction window was "after the Determine Success step" or "before the Deal Damage step" then it could save the fighter being targeted. Instead it will impact the next successful Range 1 or Range 2 Attack action made by the now affected fighter.
Hallo! My thoughts on the list with a nominal amount of testing, when I built the deck I’ll be honest I thought I fit the “voidcurse a fighter upgrades” in, I totally agree with the objective swap, the reason I had the OG one in was on the recommendation of my buddy who played a lot of the arena saying it was hard to do as a surge. As for the upgrade swaps my only thought is perhaps swapping the +1 wounds for the other voidcurse upgrade and instead of the range 1 attack keeping the range 2 ensnare. Reason being twofold, one range two means more valid targets for thrallmaker, and also, while less helpful after everyone is voidcursed it’ll help more with getting people voidcursed since it’ll tech against dodge warbands
Wanted to add a bit. After trying the swaps mentioned in the OP I stand by them, lean more into the aggro and it runs smoother. The +1 wound is nice and all but our game plan isn’t to survive, it’s to take as many of them down with us and spread the curse while doing so. This sentiment comes after a few games against family as a part of teaching but more relevantly playing a full tournament with the list and taking it all. The win I took with the hungering plague was against Magores. I hit 4 3 damage attacks thanks in no small part to the reroll and was able to ping or lethal the last health off of each of his fighters. Rabidius can definitely do work with the reroll from the parasite, but the fighter with it is in a very precarious position the whole game
CORRECTION (and WARNING): If Skritter dies he will selfishly hold onto the Bane of Heroes PERMANENTLY. Mine now... > Plot Card: "When a fighter that has one or more Bane of Heroes upgrades is taken out of action, break those upgrades." > Skritter: "If this fighter would be taken out of action, remove it from the battlefield and clear all counters and persisting effects from this fighter; it is not taken out of action."
Love this new form of content. I'm currently saving a copy of this decklist to take for a spin next weekend -- that said, could a link to the decklist be included in the description or a pinned comment after the episode is over, perhaps?
That is a great suggestion! Going to add them to the description going forward. I also forgot to mention in the outro that the Battle Mallet crew is graciously adding each deck post-stream to their Nemesis Library! (I'll add a link to their library in the description as well.)
