This is great to know. My mom had big sliders, with locks that they lost the key years ago. We went to a local locksmith and they had a key for that lock and made her a few. Try that first. Removed one of her storm door locks and the same shop made a key for that one.
Ethically, no one should tell you that. This is all done from both sides when someone has access. If access is only from one side then a locksmith should be called.
We should have found this video prior to tackling what we did 😁 As far as locksmiths go us pair of pensioners make top gardeners. Attempted to remove lock, much frustration and prior to divorcing each other we called a real locksmith who gracefully gave us a simple tip over the phone which made life pleasing again. Thanks kindly for this video. We live and we learn. 🤔☺
Mine must be new then bc I've spent the last hour trying to snap mine off. Not to mention my handle is not attached to my plates...2 separate pieces. So I can't get the handle off either unfortunately.
Hi Rob. As a locksmith of 30 years I have not seen one of these anti snap, pick, drill and bump ones yet that the method in the video would not work with. Care to tell us a part name, number or brand?
Spent an hour fiddling with the damn lock trying to get the latch to 12 o'clock. Watch your vid and spend 10 second to snap it off. You're a lifesaver mate.
