Welcome to Xrissart, my name is Chrissy and I invite you to join me on my art journey.
This is an art channel where I paint and draw with various mediums such as Pastels, watercolours, and Oil paintings. I also try out new and revisit old art supplies and review and share what I come up with. Additionally, I do Livestreams from time to time and would love for you to join me.
What a pleasant surprise it was to meet you on Friday. I have been loving the kusakabe Harmonia watercolours. I wasn't so sure about the Chiffon Pink, but it is lovely mixer colour. The Cranberry Punch is delightful. Now i have a cart full of other colours I must have.
@micleahug hey there, so nice to meet you too. And glad you're having fun with the Kusakabe Harmonia watercolours. I have a few favourites myself. Thank you so much for watching, and I hope to see you again. Kind regards, Chrissy
I recently came across Adamstown art supplies and ordered a few different water colours including 7 of the Kusakabe Harmonia Special Colours. These are brilliant paints and extraordinary good quality. This is the first time using them and I would say are better that the more expensive Schmincke Horadam granulating colours.I have just now ordered some of these beautiful single pigments by Kusakabe , so thank you for a great swatching video it really helped me decide which colours I wanted. Cheers
With your lapel mic check and see if you have gain and balance adjustment built into an app thta can help you adjust it. If it does, you'll be able to dial it in. I was watching on my phone, and it sounded fine but listening to it on the computer has you really loud. It also sounds to have a background isolator built into it.
@@Xrissart I may actually do the banana challenge. I have done a shift in my art and I am currently learning anime to see if I can streamline my creativity and produce more works.
I love the Mungyo pastels, they perform so well on so many surfaces. Those Haiya ones look interesting, but the sticks get stubby so fast. So much comes off with just a few swipes, wish the sticks were chunkier to make it worth it. Can't buy the sticks open stock either. Edit: Also, to reply to one of the comments someone said in your vid at 1:17:35 , I would hesitate before lumping all Asian brands as the same, especially considering the regional tensions among these countries. From what I've seen, Mungyo has a long history of producing their own art supplies and don't carry white-labeled products from China.
Hi Jude, Thank you for your question and watching. I used to get mine from Eckersleys, but they have discontinued it. I found another brand from Amazon. I'm not in my art space at the moment, but when I get home, I'll message you here . Kind regards Chrissy ✨️
Some pans are more opaque than others. If you want to use that yellow, you'd have to use the sponges squished between your fingers to a point. The sponges pick up more. I do appreciate your live stream, you respond to the people and questions more than other artists' live streams.
Hi Meadow, thank you for your suggestion, will give that a go!!! I enjoy the live streams because I get to chat with like-minded people. Thank you so much for watching.
@maureengoddard6821 oh yes it was a wonderful surprise. My son is in the Australian Defence and lives in another state. I rarely get to see him in person. Thank you for watching 👀 🙏 ❤️
Hi Chrissy, I’m really into oil pastels, I use sennelier and mungyo, I think you will enjoy painting with mungyo gallery. I enjoy your videos. Thank you xx
Thank you for your comment and watching. Oh yes, I love the oil pastels a lot. Once I've completed this study, I will also paint a few portrait studies. Let's see how I go!!!
I wish you could do more flowers with the brush technique. They would be fun to do for practice before trying your bigger pieces! I love my pan pastels!
Hi Susan, I enjoy painting with pastels, especially panpastels. I use all kinds of bristle brushes. I use make-up and synthetic watercolour brushes. They've taken my work to a whole new level. I have plenty of videos where you see me apply all kinds of techniques. Thank you for watching 😊
I've experienced difficulty in mixing purple with any medium except watercolors. I will certainly give this a go (on white paper). If this works, thank you for saving me a lot of money. Your videos have certainly been most educational.
Thank you Meadow, mixing panpastels colours is one of their main features. You just have to get to know their properties, and you're on your way. Happy to help if you have questions. Thanks for watching 👀 🙂
Quick questin as i just cannot work it out lol....what is the white thing at the side of the house closest to us that looks like a bird is sitting on it? Is it a rustic handrail? :) xx
Absolutely the best instruction and demonstration of pan pastels that I have seen! Thanks so much for your willingness to share your expertise. I’m ready to give it a go.
Hello John, apologies for not responding sooner. Many thanks for your kind comments. Feel free to ask questions. Hopefully, I'll be able to answer them. Thanks for watching 👀 🙂
