Hey man, you just use the rubber 15 pack washers off of Amazon and they work just fine? Just wanted to clarify because I’ve seen people say that they don’t work on newer GM models.
Do you only use it before lifting or permanently? I am afraid if you loose one at driving there would be a big rumble in the wheel house.🤔 And the Bolts? Will they not remove the paint at the fold and then it will begin to oxidize ?
Permanently. I’ve done 150+mph with these on, on track in my 2018 SS 1LE, my 2022 SS 1LE and this ZL1 without issue. Those folds barely have any paint on them to begin with, but I don’t think oxidation will be a long term issue. You can always add a layer of paint or clear coat on the pinch weld before you install them.
Would 15w 50 damage catalytic converters or anything else ? Can it be run all the time ? Do u prefer the 05w 50 in South Carolina 4 seasons ?? Or should I stick with the 0w 40 4 seasons ? Thanks . I’m spending some time on this and hear some different things so I’m kind of now just sticking with your info u come across much better and more factual than other people and their I think so opinions . 👍
I appreciate that! As far as 15W-50 all the time, I think you do run the risk of some cold-start internal engine marring, however, many have run the 15W-50 full time without issue, especially since many of these cars are purchased as track toys. If you are using yours on the street primarily, I would stick to the 0W-40 and switch to 5W-50 for track use (or 15W-50 if it’s a ZL1 1LE.) If it sees more high-G loads than grocery store trips, than running the 5W-50 full time is not an issue. I currently run 5W-50 full time, but it’s also not my daily driver. It sees less than 5K miles per year, and most of those are trips to and from the tracks I drive them to.
@@FollowMyLine17my car only has 2500 miles on it . Oil has been changed 3 times . For breakin . I will continue to change oil with the WIX and the 0-40 u recommend when the computer says 50% (+or-) oil life is left .
Are you able to show the process of jacking the car, i know it's something i should know or be relatively simple, but I want to make sure i do everything the right way. Appreciate it
Yes, I plan on doing this when I do my rotor replacement video. I’ll show how to lift the car with a pinch weld adapter and where to place jack stands without lift pads
@TheMonSSter25 no doubt. I have a set of ramps, but we were doing a full track prep on the car and a few other things that required the entire car be up in the air.
I’ve been using the mobil 1 European formula along with the acdelco oil filter and it’s been doing great for now. But definitely would like to try out the supercar
Super stoked to see you back on track. I just saw your crash video and wondered how long it took you to get back out there and regain confidence. Nice driving!
Great video I was on the fence because of facebook know it alls but ill be using the mobil 1 esp 0w40 from autozone because of their deal its dexos2 an 0w40 should be fine for a 21 LT1 right ?
Great Video!!!! I’m going to pin your video to my ZLE front crash bar videos so I don’t have to make one to explain how to remove everything! I subscribed and cannot wait to see your other content! Good info! I forgot about this feature having switched fields years ago. Now I'm wondering if my '98 k1500 has it... It sits for months without being driven.
Sorry that happened. Car sounded sick. Was hoping to hear more about the actual pay out. That the whole point of insurance. How long? You got the full agreed value no questions asked?
Thanks! That’s just the factory exhaust. Yes, they gave me the full agreed upon value, less the deductible. I thought I covered that in the video but maybe I overlooked it. It took about 2.5 weeks in total to get the payout.
I love your videos so much. Informative, practical, well-edited, concise, not 45 minutes of your face along with pointless banter and yapping and lengthy intros and outros (like most youtubers) lol. Just straight information. Clean. I love it. Learned a lot already. Thanks.
is Pennzoil ultra platinum 5w30 good for these cars? watches an oil comparison video by project farm and ultra platinum did great, i noticed that the 5w30 is dexos rated but the 0w40 has no dexos rating and says srt exclusive... i wanted to run 0w40 since its been super hot lately and im procharged. i ended up going with the supercar mobil 1 0w40 since the Pennzoil said srt exclusive and has no dexos rating...
You’re better off running the Supercar or anything with the Dexos R rating. To be fair, Project Farm didn’t run any of the Supercar Oils. I made the suggestion to him to run all of the top oils like Supercar, Amsoil, Penzoil etc.
The part number you provided for the front splitter is not a good part number if you replace the last 4 with a 3 you get a good part number for the splitter. Hopefully im right. Wildhammer doesnt have this kit available so im piecing it together part by part. I do appreciate the list of individual part numbers and quantities though
AMSOIL has a 0W-40 and 5W-50 Signature Series oil. No shortage or hard to find. Lingenfelter and AMSOIL have a strategic partnership now. Lingenfelter knows high performance GM Ls and LT engines. They run the 0W-40.
Great video but can i get your opinion? I have a 2016 ss and it’s cammed with all the bolt goodies on it and i take it to the drag strip couple times a year. Will the 5w-50 be great for situation? I also drive it every other weekend on the street
It could be, but there are so many variables to consider with a modified engine. I would recommend talking to your engine builder and see what they suggest, since they would be the most familiar with your build. The 50 weight oil may be too much, and they may recommend something more like 0W-40 or even 5W-30.
I’ve tracked all three of my GT3s. One unfortunate thing with these cars is because of the cost and how hard it is to get one, you just can’t be that aggressive on the track. I remember the first time I spun mine. It scared the crap out of me. I drove my C7 vette like I stole it. My laps were faster because I got much closer to my limit than I’d dare do in my GT3 But you can tell the gt3 is much faster .
I like the camera footage and pdr combined. How do you get the gopro footage to be so clear and not be dark. Sometimes the exposure gets messed up. Thank you
The new Z06 sounds amazing! There is lots of Voodoo noises in this video here during the trackside audio portion: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OELB0BDXglk.html
@@FollowMyLine17 oh my bad, the title does say SS 1LE. When I read 1LE I immediately thought ZL1. Don’t get me wrong, it was a fantastic vid! I just really love that Voodoo V8.
