I remember when overwatch back then actually had love and care poured into it with a passionate development team, sad how much overwatch and blizzard has fallen now
Before Oryx, the largest a Hive could get to was a Wizard. They would be the mothers, the bearers of the next generation. Until that fateful day when the then Auryx and their sisters were betrayed and forced to flee into the voided realms of their adopted home. It was in the crushing depths that they found the worms, and thus their ascension truly began. Oryx and his siblings are effectively immortal, now the physical representation of concepts like war. Wherever those concepts exist, that energy will reform them, even if they are killed in their throne worlds.
I love how Ikora and Xavala kinda talks shit on the other classes but Cayde seems more respectful. “Warlocks Understand true power.” “As a Titan you apart of the city in a way no hunter or warlock can understand.” “Warlock’s have their libraries, Titan’s have their walls, but hunters belong in the wild.” That cutscene and quest is so memorable im pure Nightstalker.
Man, I really prefer the designs of the Hive from D1. I can’t describe the change better than they made the thralls, acolytes and knights a little thicker. I really liked the thin, bony ascetic where they looked like skeletons from D1. Felt real death culty.
The entire aesthetic of d1 was superior. Not even from a nostalgia standpoint. Of they kept the same lighting and artstyle and just improved the visual fidelity d2 would be sooo much nicer. Same goes for armor design philosophy.
