Hi, I'm Kevin Secours, B.Ed., professional educator and lifelong martial artist. My channel is dedicated to pragmatic self defense, with a huge emphasis on grappling, clinching, surviving the ground, striking, offensive and defensive weapon use as well as combat psychology, combat breath training and functional mobility. I am most known for pressure testing and evolving the principles of the Russian martial art of Systema, functionalizing Japanese Jiujitsu and defensive tactics.
Will definitely be purchasing this one. All your videos are always very intricate but I've learned I need to train circumstantial to my environment. This is gold right here and I can translate this to my spouse, family, or kids without trying to convince them to take graded self defense courses.
@@noblesavageman also check out the download Safe School-it was intended for teachers but it’s a great base for intervention and is completely free to stream or download.
Love me a Blackjack! My Daddy, Philadelphia Motorcycle Cop (Highway), Rizzo’s own, not only told me how to use them, he showed me how several times. A dangerous tool. Should only be applied in moderation.
Man that Bob is a tough guy. I use to play defensive line back in my football days, so I can verify how effective the good old forearm strike is. Thanks Kevin for this great video, with a lot packed in it to help use develop as better fighters.
....he resists that figure 4, can't get his arm bent....just reverse it and slam in a straight arm lock like Waki-Gatame/Rokkyo. He resists that, do the opposite and get that figure four sort of shiho-nage type of thing going. They play off eachother. Or forego the arm entirely and just use it to open up something like iriminage, o-goshi, sukui nage etc. Always have to be ready to transition. Cool vid tho.
It is both utterly ridiculous and absolutely infuriating that Canadian Law forces us to be defenseless victims. The Criminal Code guarantees our right to Self Defense, up to and including the use of force and even lethal force if it is justified, and yet we are denied the right to own or use any tools to enact that defense. Tasers, pepper spray, stingers, push knives, metallic brass knuckles, and many others, all prohibited by Canadian Law. Even such items that we are actually allowed to own, as you say, it is considered a criminal act to carry and use them for self defense. And heaven help you if you are ever forced to defend yourself with a firearm, you'll be charged right alongside your assailant, that is if your assailant doesn't just walk away free.
Not a bad idea, but illegal in Australia regardless of material. What do you think of a hardwood pocket stick with rounded ends, ostensibly a massage tool? In some parts of Asia, there are massage tools that look like long teardrops carved out of stone, rounded on one end, and tapering to a narrow rounded point on the other.
@@raksh9 huge fan. Kibotans , tactical ones, and flashlights fall right in there. Wood or polycarbonate will do the job I have quite a few videos on each of these topics
@@viddyo it’s an old European fist load-basically a kubotan with a pinky ring. It’s a variant of brass knuckles that was intended more for hammer fists than punching . Vulpes makes a polycarbonate variant with top finger ring www.vulpestraining.com/products/third-hand-edc-tool
@@colemorrow3333 yes absolutely. There is a lot of offensive fun, knife, stick, military shovel , improvised weapons. And then traditional work like Shaska and whip
Systema often gets listed as a phony martial art by those who are armchair martial artists with no real experience other than their innate ability to ridicule what they don't understand.
Nice video but to say that Systema was created by the Communist Government is a real flight of fancy - the Soviet Communists couldn't organise a p**s up in a brewery.
