This threw me off too, I think it was changed in one of the updates. The last time I played Calamity (before this run), I also had to fight all three at once, but now it seems the big one disappears while the nuisances attack. I'm not sure when the change was made, but this was done on v2.0.4.3 for reference. Edit: checked on the wiki and it describes the current behavior where the big one hides during nuisance phase, so it was definitely an update change
Hey, so for this game (the categories I ran at least) you want to restart until you get a seed you like (the one in this video is a good one for Child difficulty), and then make a save state assuming you're on emulator. Then, since you know what pieces you'll be given and what the layout of the level is, it's all about precisely moving the cursor around and firing the snoods as quickly and accurately as you can. I think there may be other categories for this game on speedrun dot com (SRC) but I only ran the Classic game mode. Also, the rules on SRC require showing the difficulty level before or after your run. As for the emulator, I used mGBA version 0.10.3 without tweaking any emu settings, and I used OBS to capture the gameplay. Hope this helps you, good luck!
Clever way to do this man! Nice pb btw! I always just let the cart go past meowth while its dancing and spam pictures. The best ones are when it's dancing sideways so you can see its tail. My pb is 4360 though
Thanks! This setup was shared with me by Sukige, and allowed me to break past 4440. It makes getting the Same Pokemon bonus much easier than what I was doing before. @@jazzabighits4473 Good question. If you look closely, you will see that I receive same Pokemon bonus in this photo. This is because we use an angle, which allows the other Meowth to show up in the background. Do you remember the Meowth that walks out of the grass near the Scyther, a bit beyond where I take this photo? He's not really visible to us, but Professor Oak can see him through the grass, so we receive some same Pokemon bonus. You won't be able to get above 4400 without that bonus because a single Meowth alone caps out at 4400 (1000 size, 1200 pose, x2)

Yo, it's run, you should look into reducing your speed before starting your vault to get basically the combination of a neutral vault and a vault with moment. Should be able to get a tiny bit of hight and forward momentum with a minimum moment vault.
@@SerBDG Yeah the game gets a little rough at that point. The projectile spam is the safer way to handle the difficult opponents (like the Niiki ditto), and the main time save would be playing more risky in those battles. Best of luck! I'll let you know here if I end up beating my time
@@SerBDG So far I've gotten a 12:05 today. Most of the time save was from doing less projectile spam in later rounds. There's still lots of room for improvement though
This was on emulator, yes. I'm hoping to revisit the game once I have a cart or flash cart. Plenty of room for improvement. I think this was the only run I did.
Yes, it's a little sad. I think this is the first (and only) speedrun of Armorines, so far. Hopefully someday, more speedrunners will show interest in the game!
