What an impressive skyline! Although there are some taller buildings in China and Dubai, New York's massive clusters of skyscrapers is hard to beat. Breathtaking! Hong Kong's may come close, but NYC is tops, due to the sheer number of towers, and the numerous clusters of them.
Very long sky view. I am lucky to see this video. I like big skyscrapers and very straight roads in Manhattan. I noticed there is population density very much in NYC. Thanks for ur sharing. 😄
Yay.. failed landing at LGA. Have fun in the mid day queens traffic on the way to midtown. I tunnel into the city like a rat, on a shitty bus to port authority.
This is probably the best video of an approach at LaGuardia including the NYC sightseeing, with the unintended go-arounds well, and because this video is recent, and LaGuardia's renovation is complete in this video. I thoughrohly enjoyed every second, just staring at those buildings!
Thank you so much for the suggestions. I have to admit I have no idea how to target an audience in RU-vid so I really appreciate your suggestion :) I’m so glad you enjoyed the video!
I’ve only experienced one go-around in my life, and I didn’t much enjoy it, I can tell you! But I wouldn’t mind going through a second one if I got that view.
It's possible, but there was a plane at the departure of 4 ready to go. From what my pilot experience flying in and out of LGA I'd say he was just a little high on final. This approach doesn't really have a square pattern like the norm, downwind, base, then final. It's more like an oval. So you have to continue descending throughout the whole maneuver or you'll end up high on final. The city buildings don't help you either because you don't want to buzz them. Then when you cross the Flushing Bay you feel it's right to descend quickly but it's not a lot of water to cross and you'll get the GPWS yelling at you not to sink. They did the 100% correct action. Go around. No harm, no fault, and I think this is the best video I've ever seen of that pattern especially through a passenger window!!!! Awesome video !!!! Can you tell me was that your IPhone or a professional camera ???
@@FlyLeah ... it's called the Expressway Visual approach. You approach from the south side of Manhatten. You're suppose to fly direct to what's known as the Maspeth tanks. Then make a right turn and follow the LIE (Long Island Expressway )(495). That part is the downwind. Then make a left at the Van Wyck Expressway (678) to a point that intercepts the final curving around Citifield stadium. From downwind to final, it's a constant turn. You really don't level off or fly a base leg unless the tower tells you "square your final" so they can get a departure off of runway 4 before you land. If that happens, you would level your wings and make a short base leg. The error most pilots make with this request is that they continue to descend. You should stop the descend until you join final or you'll end up really low over the Home Depot in Flushing.
