Thanks for this video, I got KST 6” bars for my 2017 Roadmaster, been wanting taller bars for a long time. Your step by step video was the confidence boost I needed to go ahead!! The wiring was the biggest unknown, once it’s in the bar it’s lights out. Twisting the wire was very helpful, baby powder may also help? 👍😎😁
Greg Martisius I am starting my install of the KST 6” bars. How much wiring did you have out of the base of the bars? I have the throttle side installed and about 5” of wire bundle out of the base.
Didn't get instructions how to do install for my 2021 Springfield DH. found your RU-vid instruction. Thanks you, your vid was very helpful. Will start it in the Morning and see.
Chad - I used your method to punch the plugs out - worked like a charm! Great video overall - just waiting on my header to be shipped back from American customs...
You prolly dont care at all but does any of you know a method to get back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly forgot my account password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me
@Cody Jimmy Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I believe it's this one: www.indianmotorcycle.com/en-us/shop/accessories/handlebars/mid-rise-handlebar-kit/?pid=2882923-410 But, it says that it doesn't fit the roadmaster. I would talk to your dealer. Things hight have changed in the last few years.
Just put Different headers and pipe on my indian and was the wrong thing to do. Lost 5 horse by not using the stock headers. Nothing gets better performance then the stock headers fyi.
I worked my ass off trying to get the rear header off. The muffler would move back a bit but I couldn't get it to move back far enough to detach from the front header. I must have worked for 30 minutes.I removed the front header and the rear header detached in less than 2 minutes. Other than that I appreciate you taking the time to video this. It helped me out tremendously.
One more thing for my 2019 Roadmaster I found out the hard way. The cross over pipe is not simply held on to the muffler. There is a flange that is welded on directly to the crossover pipe. The flange fits on a nut that is welded to the frame. No matter how much WD40 or PB blaster you use and no matter how hard you hit the nut it will not come off. There is however a bolt that goes through the frame into the welded nut. Sure makes it easier to back out!
FYI, I went one step further and wrapped the pipe where the converter is with exhaust tape. It’s simply amazing how the heat ( like it was before ) is now gone and you just have normal heat. Yes I just rode my bike and it was 95f outside temperature.
Just did this install on my 2019 CDH only difference is the throttle body o-rings that need to be re-used are different so had to order 2 o-rings #5813886 and install was perfect thanks to you.
why did you have to re-use o-rings for 2019? The re-used o-rings were for the spacer, which isn't used for 2019 and newer. However, the on that came in my kit was too big, by at 1/8 of an inch, also, while I was trying to get the o-ring installed, I noticed a hairline crack in the surface that mounts up to the throttle body. Have to wait until Tuesday to see what the dealer will say or do, hopefully, they exchange it for me. Otherwise, I'm out 519.00
@@smsgtjoe8411 the high flow intake as advertised should be compatible with the 2019 and 2020 and in the instructions it calls for the re-use of the o-rings from the original intake which is not compatible with the high flow intake I ended up ordering the o-rings from a 2018 cheiftain which work perfectly no problems then took to dealer for the tune. The dealer and Polaris customer service have been pretty good so far at resolving issues like that so I think u will be fine.
Why did you punch out the plug at the end of video? Forgive the ignorance, thinking of getting the American customs header for heat reduction and not positive as to why or if it was recommended by American customs, or the benefit. Any opinions would be appreciated. Not a mechanic but I can follow instructions.
I was looking for videos on using the newer PV3 and MacOS but yours is the best one I've found. Just as a FYI, I was told the hidden files may not appear if you copy the files from an actual webpage (yahoo.com or gmail.com... whatever) instead of using the mail app. I followed that advise and then used terminal to see if the files were on the PV3 and they were not. I was then told that the new firmware for the PC3 recognizes the hidden files and deletes them. Who knows?? Either way, the PV3 is super easy to use. Funny I've been watching Changing Lanes for a while now. Unfortunately, I love my current job too much to leave and do what y'all are doing. One day it'll happen. Then I was looking for PV3 videos, found this video and it took a second and went, oh... this is Chad from Changing Lanes. Hope all is well and look forward to your new videos.
Thanx for the vids Chad! You and another guy got me thinking about lots of simple tricks for maxing out my RM’s look. And yes, the Springfield script looks much better - really pops!
No issues at all. And now we travel in an RV full time and use the wheel dock all the time. We demonstrate it a bit here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_X-LAY8Fwlw.html, then later here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uPXNmS0IBRQ.html and even more here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-f56_8ecCTaI.html
Hey Chad I love your videos, I have a chieftain dark horse with the same mods. I am getting ready to do the intake and cams, I was wondering what the difference is between this tuner and the tune they will put on it after the cam install at the dealership?
So I followed your video to also remove my cat from my 17 RM that I bought in June of this year with only 2k on it but now have 12k. So my question is, you forgot to mention that while removing the pipe you needed to loosing the front pipe to give you the wiggle room to get the back pipe and cat out and really didn't need to remove the foot pad or brake assembly. Had that been shown, it would have saved me about 30 mins. but all in all it was great. Oh, when you took off the O2 sensor, you also didn't say that you needed to go to the other side to remove the plug, my dumb ass kept trying from the right side, only to check the other side which was so much easier. LOL Thanks for the help though .
thanks for the video. just installed my American Customs header and used your video for the whole process THANKS. now if the salt gets washed off the roads so I can take a test ride
We are wanting to upgrade our 2015 TT toy hauler (Grey Wolf Limited 27RR). The one that we really like has a half garage (2019. Keystone Outback 335CG) but the length in the garage for our 2016 Road Glide Ultra is tight. But I believe this chock will give me the space I need to make it work over my condor chock. The condor has 2” from front of tire to front of the chock. This wheel dock chock looks like its only about 1/2” or less.
Chad Florian I ordered one today. I look forward to trying it out on my Road Glide Ultra :) And hoping it gives me the clearance I need on the trailer we are interested in.
I think this might be a step in the wrong direction. Using the filter, negates the frame AIR BOX in frame which is there for a GOOD REASON! How did this turn out for you? BTW, good video Sub'd and T-up! Indian engineers would not have gone to all the trouble of incorporating the frame as part of the induction system. It would have saved them a lot of time and money to just mount a filter to the Throttle body with no further engineering acumen !!!! What say you? ALSO WHAT ABOUT re-cal of engine computer?
It's been so long since I did this mod, I'm not sure I follow. I guess you're talking about the cap for the frame part of the stock air flow? My guess is that since the stock air box was kind of enclosed, it needed a little more help getting air in from the front of the frame.... while the high flow air cleaner can suck all the air it needs directly. Either way, it's been working great! And, yes... any change to the intake / exhaust usually gets an ECU re-program, which I did using the PVCX.
@@ChadsStuff I am glad it is working great. If you don't mind I have a few questions. The same questions I would ask should we meet at a rally. Have you ridden through pouring rain? How do you service the air filter, just replace & how often? If you don't mind what does the air filter cost. What changes in the way the engine runs.... have you noticed?
