Absolutely. For example, I recently handled a fourth DUI with Hit and Run charge. Despite the prosecutor being relatively friendly, his higher ups (supervisors) refused to provide a decent offer. I negotiated with three different judges, the second gave the best indicated sentence. Third judge was the highest. Luckily, the third judge honored the second judge’s offer. Result = happy client. Even if someone does take a fake checkpoint to attempt to catch people at the next exit there are lots of reasons why someone who isn't breaking the law would take the next exit. For example if they needed to take the exit anyway to go home.
And then again what he was doing, pulling off the freeway and doing all of that was none of their business where he’s going where he’s coming from what his reason for being on the highway is none of their business plain and simple🤬🤬🤬🤬!!
That’s funny. I caught your video by accident here in the Canoga Park San Fernando Valley. I haven’t seen it for a while but for a couple of years, they were setting up smog check points basically for you to pull over into this little station that they made on the side of the road to check your smog equipment.
That's a lot smarter than I give the police any credit for. Usually they're like: Police: Are you carrying any illegal drugs? Motorist:.... Yes? *Tackle* Police: You have the right to remain silent... Later Police: Are you carrying anything contraband? Drug mule: (nervously).... No? Police: *waves him through* Okay, have a good night!
I am all for getting impaired drivers off the streets,but am not willing to surrender our rights to accomplish this. Sobriety checkpoints are Unconstitutional, I don't care what any Court says. They are stopping people who have been suspected of committing no crimes and searching them. Even worse many times they demand your information at these stops. We deserve what ever we allow to happen. "Ze papers please", this is Gestapo tactics.
On topic queston: if a warrant were to be issued in such a case, should it specify which bedroom can be search? If it fail to, can it be viewed as too vague, or expansive?
i dont drink but when i see a check point ahead I turn off - because I don't want to waste my time there- I've had them test me just because I was late for work but I filmed it and gave to my boss told him trying to get there on tie made me much later
I guess you can't change your mind on what exit you want to take on a public road. Shame this country has gone this way 😢. We have real crimes occuring, and they focused on this stuff.
The logic is flawed. If I have to exit I have to exit. A narcotics or other checkpoint sign would not change that. I have heard of seatbelt checkpoints, but that is okay in my book because it is clearly visible from outside the vehicle.
Highly unlawful, as ruled by the court checkpoints are voluntary and not volunteering fornthe checkpoint is not criminal period. No ras or pc. Everyone fight the charges all will be supressed and dissmissed
It's called Entrapment. And I'm pretty sure there is an easement between curtilage and the road, I believe it's called a public right away / easement? If police can park in the end of your driveway and do radar, why couldn't this driver not pull in to turn around? I'd be shocked too. I turn around and see a police stopping me for just turning around.
I believe there is less than a small fraction less than 1% good cops across the country. The other 99% are either very bad cops, or cops that protect these bad cops. This goes all the way to the top. This turns cops into essentially a bad luck lottery. Vast majority of cops far too often do not follow the Constitution. So when your day-to-day travels you can accidentally run across one of these thug cops. Just like this situation the cops are trying to force you in by simply taking an exit to avoid the possibility of dealing with these rotten police officers. Your life will change for the worse. They act as a rogue fraction of the government that does not follow government rule. The thousand plus gang of sheriffs, along with their poorly trained disciples, have unbelievable powers to strip people of their freedoms, physically abuse them, torture them, without any recourse. This is because of qualified immunity, when cops are given immunity they act with impunity! They're held to a higher standard, is one of the biggest lies they say to people. The fact of the matter is any standard without recourse, it's no standard at all!
Qualified community is the most dangerous thing that's happened to society. Since the black plague. Cops will claim the operating on a higher standard, this is a lie! Any standard without recourse is no standard at all!
I seen this out side of Vegas in the middle of nowhere and the cops were on the other side of the freeway pulling people over that crossed the middle of the freeway to head back to town ..... I think it was great .and loved seeing it. O they were all turning around in dirt. Got ya dumb ass..lol
They routinely do one of these checkpoints on my route home I avoid it every single time I see it I work 14 to 16 hours every single day and I don't have a second to sit on the side of the road and talk to the police about how I'm not drunk. I met a guy the other day who said they actually made him go to the hospital and draw blood because he passed everything but his eyes were still doing that movement thing so I don't have time to be accused and to deal with the police.
