Cool looking game with great deluxe components and dice! I'm with you on standees vs. minis (especially since I'm not a painter). I look forward to a playthrough.
That may need to wait a bit :p We tried playing this past weekend and must have missed a critical rule because it was incredibly difficult for us! It’s too pretty to give up on though so we’ll figure it out and hopefully get a playthrough up eventually.
Glad you enjoyed it! We worked through a lot of figuring out remote play while doing runs of Dice Throne Adventures. When Dice Throne Missions comes out in a few months, you can look forward to some high quality production :D
Thanks for these playthroughs! They are helping me pass the time until the retail release in late July. FYI - The rules state "Transform - Remove a card from your deck that isn’t a Curse."
Question, how the heck do you beat the Dragon Enraged monster in there? You have to fight all 4 parts of the dragon at one time?? How's that possible? You'd take minimum of 4 damage all at once before even attacking lol
From what I recall, the player gets their attack phase first so you could damage and take out a part of the dragon before it activates. Also, you’d probably have to rely on spending morale almost every turn to refresh the powers that had been damaged and exhausted. Either way, you get there by accepting “A true test of skill” so it’s probably meant to really challenge you. Such a wild scenario!
Unfortunately not in an official capacity. The closest you can get is playing on Tabletopia instead of TTS. There are a couple different characters on that medium. It has different shortcuts, but it’s not too bad to adjust to if you are familiar with TTS.
Thank you for the kind words! We played this last week and the game is brilliant! You've outdone yourself with Raising Robots. We play a lot of different games, but it's been quite a while since we've talked about a game so much afterwards. We're all very eager to get it back to the table and play again! We were enjoying it so much that after finishing the game, we played another 4 rounds building on what we had. Naturally, this led to the person with the most efficent engine pulling way ahead, but it was a good reminder why there are limited turns ;) Thanks for the awesome game and I look forward to see what's next for you!
They were part of the Kickstarter. They may have them as an add on during future Kickstarter campaigns or perhaps through their shop. Otherwise, you'd be looking at getting them second hand from someone :/
When you forgot to play the Roll Phase card which inflicts Stun, that should have stopped you from activating your defense. Also, I believe that on Spiderman's Mythic, you don't get two for the price of one. You either discard Inviso to roll against Undefendable, or you discard it to roll both. You can't do both with one discard, just like you can't do one discard and Reroll Spider Sense and use Invisible Punch or Ambush, etc.
Good gracious you're right about the stun! We did have a debate about the mythic and moving forward we're going to use it as one or the other, but not both. Certainly feels bad compared to artificer's. Good shouts!
Yep! This tournament I think allowed both players to potentially have the same camps or Legendary Heroes on the field. Made for some pretty interesting matches!
The new characters are additional options if you want alternate art for the basic side. They all have unique starting resources on the advanced side and some of the new ones use the new mechanics as well!
Thanks! The acrylic pieces are from the Geeked Up Bits section of Boardgamegeek, the metal hammer was from backing Marvel Dice Throne on Kickstarter, and the Marvel tokens are actually the stock cardboard that I used an acrylic marker to color the sides of. It makes them look premium while still being the cardboard :D My newest board game hack that I love!
did i just watch an hour an half of gunslinger doing only pistil whip ..omg yes i did yes you won but kinda cheese way to win...its like only doing undefenable damg
Glad it works for you! I use a Brio camera and a plug in for OBS for "Move Transitions." Pretty easy to use once it's set up and it looks great! There will definitely be more Final Girl coming. Probably this week even!
I'd recommend checking out Michael Feyrer Jr.'s channel for sorting out OBS. He's got a lot of tips and tricks for it that are really helpful. Good luck to you guys! The setup is the hardest part, but once you get going, it's great!
Yeah there were a lot of those subtleties that I started to pick up on the 2nd time playing. (link in the description) It went a bit more in my favor :p
When you failed the discipline card you forgot to lower the time track by one , so you would have had 3 time to spend , not 4 and you wouldn’t have been able to buy 2 sprint cards.
You didn’t have to play that scenario then you would have weapon cards in the item decks , and you wouldn’t have got that terrible event card automatically. These scenarios make the game more difficult , only play them once you have beat Hans a few times on standard level and are confident with the rules.
Did this over a week ago after I got my Archive of the Ancients and the two new expansions, playmat and World Box. Recommendation is that you put those expansion rules into the game trays and put the player aids into the player trays. Since that will keep things a bit more tidy. But a great video.
Regarding Warp Pipe. Can you trade cards with anyone and then trade with the person next to you as well. Or can you just trade with anyone once and then it is the next person's turn?
That is a great question. I feel like based on the wording of the card, it seems like the warp pipe could be used and then you could still trade with the person on your left. It feels like the intent is probably for it to replace the turn trade. Really though, play whichever way works best for you and your group!
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'd recommend giving it another go since the more organized a game is, the more likely it hits the table. And this game is awesome!
Thank you for the demo. Just got this card game from a one of my UK surplus supplier and not sure how to play it. I was planning to sell it but decided to keep it instead ❤
Very welcome! I'll probably update the video soon as it was one of my first and the channel has come a long way visually since then. Glad it helped though!
