What's crazy is that the show actually came out in 2001, and it was crazy from the get go. While 911 probably caused the general pessimism that made it so popular, it couldn't have been the reason the writers made the show so nuts
The bodybuilding forums have been online since at least 2001, and were just shut down TODAY. All threads redirect to a photo of the new company owners. So much digital history gone.
The reason accuracy at the 3-point line is so close to midrange shots is because they are practiced more. Take away the extra point and everyone is trying to go hard into the paint or bricking on the only open shot they can make out of desperation because there’s no reward to practicing at the arc.
ik im late to this party, but seeing kamala on the list of future presidents when she's currently running genuinely made me freak out. a 7 year old ARG (possibly) predicted the future before
backstory!! a long time ago (2012!) jon used to work on a website he and some close friends made called progressive boink. progressive boink had a series, make time for an old friend, which would showcase a bunch of weird shit they found on the internet. while googling for stuff, jon came across networktvonline, and this video was apparently ripped from the website's front page. the girard mentioned is the main guy behind this video. he apparently ran some weirdo media group which, from the looks of things, never got off the ground. all the websites here were genuine attempts at business, but they all kinda hit the shitter since girard media group never really made it big it's all kinda sad really. like a graveyard of tv. gothic tv
something else to note is that if you go through the clients page in girard media group's website, like half of their clients were marijuana websites. just an interesting tidbit
I was curious, so I looked up John Carney's kicking record. When this play happened, he had not missed an extra point attempt since week 17 of the 1999 season, when he was still with the Chargers. After that miss, he hit 131 consecutive extra point attempts in the leadup to this game. After this, he would hit his only attempt in week 17, starting a new streak that lasted until week 11 in 2006, almost 3 years later. His only missed extra point, in a span of time lasting 2,513 days and including 217 extra point attempts. This, out of all of them, was the one he failed.
