Honestly what really drove me not to reenlist was during COVID while stationed on a ship in Japan, we got back from a 5 month float to go back into port with restriction to the pier and 7 day work weeks. I was chilling on the pier with some friends and I saw our command master Chief coming back from McDonald’s (off the pier I might add) and he told a 1st class to step back from the gate as he was trying to comfort his daughter who was crying because she didn’t understand why he wasn’t allowed to be at home with them. Like the fuck?! But you can go to McDonald’s 😅
