Hi there! 👋🏽 Welcome to our channel. We are Robyn and Graham, a Canadian couple looking to create a space to talk about all things travel…..specifically backpacking! Our goal is to hopefully inspire you to pack your bags and head out to a destination not originally on your bucketlist! We want to share our adventures with you, so please come along and let's see the world together!
Expect to see travel vlogs, tips and advice, packing guides, travel hacks and more.
Interesting use of the word' exhume' as in digging out something like a corpse - but maybe you meant that, Graham. I was quite surprised to read that these are not old temples at all - the white one in 1997, the blue one in 2016 - and I agree with Robyn that the black one doesn't seem like a temple at all. All very unique though. Loved that the white temple had cell phones and Batman in there (symbol of good or evil? Likely still up for grabs!) Great tour. Thank you. 🙂
In the past, many decades ago, there was a Thai government official who fought with a capitalist to protect forests and wildlife. The capitalist hired a gunman to kill him. But he chose suicide first. To make it national news To make Thai people interested in protecting the forests in Huai Kha Khaeng National Park.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xAJExMAAdXM.htmlsi=ET4fvcIOucmGp-B2
So glad I am finally on top of all your wonderful adventures. I would be totally overwhelmed with all the stuff that was being sold through that walking street market. Still lots of people around, though I think the lantern festival takes the packed prize! Thanks again. 🙂
Thank you so much! Yes it's included in our video about Khao Sok National Park 🤗 it was part of the tour we did! No tourists (apart from our group), right in nature, and it was our first ever time experiencing sticky waterfalls! That hike definitely left an impression on us.
@@legauloisexile3498 amazing! We were there for November and December 😁 it’s a wonderful time to visit but definitely busy in Chiang Mai because of the lantern festival!
Wow! I can see why this festival would be the nightmare of the fire department! Our fireworks displays in Canada are so well regulated just because of all the Workplace and Health regulations. We had a mini lantern ceremony when Jacob graduated - only one lantern per person who came to his party. We were out in an open area but still a lantern drifted into a tree - and another came down into the field and we had to run to put out the fire. Very tricky to control - and there is the debris as you mentioned in your jungle vlog. Liked the floating flowers/incense part of the ceremony - to drift the negativity away for the next year. You guys have done an awesome job of giving us so many positive stories from your southeast Asia trek. Thank you 🙂
So cool! Wish I were at least 50 years younger to enjoy such an experience. Appreciated that you were off the beaten track and seeing the country the way most of the people live it. Wonderful.. 🙂
Just found your channel. Really good information. Also love you share coffee spots 😊 ☕️ When do you both think Cambodia & Malaysia will be in your travels ? Wonderful content. Look forward to more SEAsia videos!🎉
You'll soon find out that we are obsessed with coffee 😂 We unfortunately didn't get to Cambodia and Malaysia on this trip but it's definitely on our list of somewhere we hope to visit soon 🤗
I'm Asian. Welcome to Asia. Tokyo Japan. Seoul Korea. Shanghai China. Taipei Taiwan. Bangkok Thailand. Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. Singapore. Manila Philippines. Jakarta Indonesia
What an amazing experience!! Getting out of the big city and into the jungle was definitely a highlight for us 🤗 What a unique experience for tourists to do when they come to Thailand!
So interesting! Looks like it would be so slippery and yet it obviously not! Glad there were some ropes for the steeper parts. Still not seeing lots of 80 year olds trekking on by! Thought the guy was putting chocolate on the crepe! 🙂
I like the herbal thai massage. The traditional looks painful! Never heard of Chiang Mai before and now Jacob has been there, your dad Grant and then your mom, now you two! Loved this video. Thanks! 🙂
Love the bus stop sign! You guys are so positive, after 14:12 hours! They would have let you on in Mexico! I can't believe how chipper you guys are after such a long travel day! Forget the chill - how about the sleep! 🙂
You made the right choice to come to Asia , Asia is rising , China Japan South Korea. Taiwan. Thailand. Malaysia. Singapore. Philippines and Indonesia , the Asian century is coming !
We didn’t have any problem swimming at Ao Nang beach! 😄 it may not have been as pretty as some of the surrounding beaches but it was still nice to spend the afternoon there 😊
1. Thailand has VIP sleeping cars such as NCA First Class, Sombat Tour. If you have a chance again, try using these 2 companies. 2. You put the wrong Thai flag on the cover on YT. You use the Costa Rica flag not Thailand Hope your guys enjoy and safe.
I have lived in Bangkok fot 16 years but only know about 5 bus routes. Because of the incredible traffic (but not at 530 AM), it is easier to take BTS / MRT if the destination is near a stop. Good video. Enjoy your travels !
Brings back wonderful memories. I stayed at the Athens Hub in 2021 for a week. One of my favorite hostels in Europe. It’s in the middle of the beautiful Monastiraki neighborhood. Glad you found it and enjoyed it. 🙂
Can't believe the hike terrain - and in sandals. Your mom was wearing sandals too on their hike in St Lucia. I would need full blown hiking boots not to turn my ankle. Thanks for taking me safely to places I will never be able to go now. Vicarious living through my grandkids. Love XXX 🙂
Glad i found this video. We might be moving to Umag. Is it busy with people? And have you seen any grocery stores that i can walk to and buy every day foods?
Wow that's amazing!! When we visited there wasn't a ton of tourists but travel wasn't fully open yet after Covid and there weren't a ton of people travelling so it may be different now 😁 However, it won't nearly be as busy as the cities in the south of Croatia get! There should be grocery stores as we cooked a lot of our food at our accommodation 🤗
I'll send a longer message once my legs get uncramped from watching you guys climb that mountain. Who had to carry all the supplies up to build that Big Buddha! And the separate ways down? Wow! Glad there was a good positive ending to that story. Appreciated the trust you each had - that Robyn just waited in the lobby and Graham just walked along until a 'grab' came along. Much more restful for the voyeur to see the beach, even if the local parachute guy wasn't strapped in. Exhausted now - and I was only watching. 🙂
Curious what your guys’ budgets were for each day in each country/currency! I love seeing the currency conversion pop up whenever you mention a local price too.
