We are a young couple with a desire to share our gardening journey. We hope our videos will encourage other people to dig in the dirt and grow something. We have patterned our garden layout after the Biblical Sanctuary and believe the garden is a special place to grow our relationship with God. Come alongside us and learn with us as we get dirty, try new things, laugh a lot, and encounter God.
I understand that with rye, you need to cut it just below the soil, chop the green growth completely from the root then leave it for 1 month before planting. As long as the chlorophyll producing part is attached to the root, the plant will hold on. This information was from the channel' ' I am organic farming ', he's a farmer himself, seems to definitely know what he's doing
My front yard has 2 large oak trees. The grass under those trees grows rarely. If I removed the top 3” of soil from under the trees and use that in my blueberry containers and then use bagged top soil to fill in the loss soil under my trees. Maybe???
Love the creativity, gardening and grilling aspects of this video, however I looked up if you can eat sunflower shells online and it says, "While sunflower seed shells are technically edible, they are not recommended to eat because they are tough, fibrous, and can be difficult to digest. Eating too many sunflower seed shells can cause a blockage in your intestinal tract, which can be dangerous." So just be mindful when making this. 😊
Great tips! I did some aggressive leaf trimming yesterday and it looks like I may need to do some more based on your results. My tomatoes are in my Greenstalks and went wild. I didn’t plant them until July 4th due to a bicep injury. Next year I will be more aggressive earlier in the season 😎
I’m so excited about my patch of 10 new everbearing-never grown them before. Now I can add more plants and share to someone else who might want them. Thanks for precise information on how to keep your patch productive.
People in the west be like try this packaged stuff or that packaged stuff, even soil and it’s absolutely bonkers. Potting mix, gardening soil peat moss, cocopeat, perlite blah blah blah. The reasoning this lady gave for everything is incorrect. But she is right about what will work. What we do in the east is throw some raw gypsum (as mined from the sources) on the tilled ground and it works perfectly fine. We can get like 250kg of that gypsum for 5$. This lady keeps talking about microbiology but has no idea how the actual process occurs. I doubt she knows whats nitrogen fixing or nitrifying bacteria. Do what she did, at 9mins mark. Thats its. No need to watch the whole video and listen to her misinformation. What a looser, pathetic!
My Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss tested at like 5 to 6 ph. I used the Elemental Sulfur and it takes so dang long to work. I didnt know this, and I bought the sulfur same time I got my plant thinking it instantly works like a goofball. But my plants leaves all fell off.
I like to plant strawberries in my cinderblocks that I use for my raise bed. They can crawl out the runners and make more strawberries on the ground. The way we used to do. It was when we got too much tangles we would just mow the strawberries on the ground outside the raised bed I also told my husband to mow them down where my mother planted them in the back corner of the yard because they got poison ivy in them so my mother-in-law decided she could pick them and she rubbed her face. She rubbed her lips. she rubbed her eyes. She had poison ivy everywhere don’t do that. Just mow them down. They still got under the ground. They’ll come back next year.
I have raspberries growing at home that are thornless but the ones that were already on my allotment plot are very thorny. The thorny ones seem to produce more raspberries but the taste is still the same. Have the thornless ones been bred that way?
I'm starting from scratch. I moved into a new home 3 years ago and have an out of control patch that will blossom but no fruit. Any comments are welcome
Well, I’ll say what everyone else is saying. This is by far the best raspberry pruning video I have seen! Great explanation and video footage to clearly explain everything.
likewise here to say this is the best video on the internet about pruning everbearing raspberries- thank you!! i finally feel informed and confident! ✨🙏🏼✨
To be honest, besides purchasing "Garden straw" which can be quite expensive, I haven't had luck finding seed free straws. I'm trying out other mulches like cover crop drops, leaves and grass clippings
Just found your channel, great explanation,I have lots of runners in my green sticks where my strawberries are growing but they don’t have any nodules on them should I just cut them all and let them root in water or do I have to see the little nodules first
I’m confused do you foliar feed the Neptune’s harvest or do you water with it? You show clip of putting it in watering can but then said to foliar feed. Thanks
