You actually don't have to "hold" Y unless you want to avoid an attack. But to make a valor charging special attack starting the sheath and then immediately pressing X or A+X will pull off the move. The button press can be in rapid sequence rather than simultaneous.
I dunno man, just look at what the monster's weak to? It honestly doesn't matter in 90% of hunts. I always just run a healing blunt non-elemental kinsect because that's the comfiest build for me.
We don't have try guy money, but next time I have a 101 degree fever and a jacked up throat we'll record 80 hours of content and then lie that we got him as a guest host.
You mentioned three Kinsect dust clouds, but there's a fourth - blast (very useful for doing a lot of extra damage). I watched the video as I've been getting frustrated with trying to get those buffs up as it's a bit of a pain trying to get them when monsters keep turning this way and that. I wondered if there was an effective means of doing that as I've found the "lock on target" feature to be pretty useless as it doesn't really lock on and can't be moved to the tail (where you can also get the orange/gold buff). I've also noticed - more since Iceborne was released - that sometimes the normal areas you get these buffs changes depending on the monster, and that sometimes you'll get a green glow on the kinsect icon where it doesn't pick up an extract.
Yep, every monster has different buff zones - I just gave general guidelines from past MH games since MHW had just come out, but there's a lot of variety. As for the green buff, that's the secret fourth buff - health! It gives you a little HP. Very nice if you know where to grab it from - typically regions like tail tips which are severable.
I’ve got pretty much everything down already with the Insect Glaive. Just came here cause I couldn’t figure out what caused the power-ups. And now I know and now I’ll do even more DPS! Thanks man! Edit: I just rewatched, and I noticed that this tutorial is actually really quick compared to other tutorials. You covered a lot about the IS in a really short amount of time. Nice!
Whats this attack do? Hold charge then hit circle, my player charges its attrack then does some kinda block animation but does nothing. If you hold the charge The game hint menu says "Power Charge Circle" ??
