Is it me or does it seem silly for the transit police to have their own tactical branch? Like how specific and unique is the situation to warrant it's own tactical team?
It's a firearms team. And train stations are a terrorist target so commonly patrolled by armed police, so of course they have their own firearms team. Would be silly is they *didn't* have a firearms team. How would they patrol stations and provide an armed respose when needed if they didn't?
@@theprodigy4585 British Transport Police are something else when it comes to territoriality regarding their jurisdiction. Half the reason they have their own firearms unit is probably so that they can shoot at any other police who try to infringe on their turf.
@@theprodigy4585 Regular police in a lot of other countries carry guns BUT in the UK, it's a specialisation: Armed Security, Armed Response and Tactical Units (like SWAT)

@@l55p. He’s joking, most authorised firearms officers in the UK have stepped down/resigned from their role as they feel very limited in their job, even if it was a good shoot they could be investigated for years just to decide if it was the right decision to fire a weapon at the suspects
