I sympathize with why she is saying, but at the same time, there are also poor white people that are also been fucked over by the system not for racist reasons, but just because they are also economically disadvantaged. Sometimes they are literally in the same neighborhood as predominantly Black people. No one would say that it’s OK for them to riot and loot. And the ironic part is it actually create more poverty in the cities it’s happening in! Not to mention of black owned businesses also end up having to shut down or leave the area because it’s no longer a good place to do business. Condemn the system and illegal ways to circumvented, even if it is problematic.
i think you’re missing the point, i am a poor white person, nobody is going to deny my hardships as a member of the lower income class. If i felt the need to steal so i felt successful enough in a society that prioritizes consumerism, that desire to steal would only be fueled by my materialism. And while looting is inherently materialistic, it’s also fueled by the 450+ years that black people have been dragged under the poverty line and kicked off the social ladder everytime they reach for the rums. I have only been experiencing poverty for 2-3 generations, when my german and irish ancestors left europe to come here for better opportunities, unfortunately they did not find what they were looking for and i struggle greatly with my financial security, but it lacks the devastation and pain associated with black poverty
@@boopus4617 thank you for responding and I’m sorry about your situation. But I have a problem with is people assume that every black person that steals must need the money. Rich celebrity steal.. there are probably some people that stole that didn’t need the money and did it purely for materialistic reasons, or just because they wanted more money. I know race plays a huge part in someone’s life, but sometimes it feels like we are making excuses for people based on their race which in and of itself can sometimes sound racist. You’re basically saying that black poor people are different than you and their motivations because they are monolith in all are doing things for the same reason. how is that not some form of racism albeit not hateful? Also, the rest of my point is still valid. Black owned businesses sometimes have to get shut down or relocate, and it affects the entire community. it’s been proven that crime increases the poverty where it is perpetrated. It seems irresponsible to excuse something that is actually not solving any problems and harming the community and everyone in it.
