Been with my wife for over 37 years. 4 children. 8 grandchildren. Played guitar since about 8 years old - love it. My uncle taught me. My grandfather played rhythm with George Jones.
Spent the majority of my life in technology. Network administration, engineering or programming (IBM AS-400 stuff - very boring). Had (still have) a love for games and game programming. I even wrote a lot of Ray Tracing code in the early 90's (which was rejected by the DOOM crew - it required too much juice) You know - WAY before it was cool.
I still work. Own my own little IT business and take care of a few clients that I have had for nearly 25 years. The wife and I have a small homestead and raise chickens and ducks and rabbits and turkeys. And we try our best to keep a green garden for most of the year. We have 2 dogs (a great pyrenees and a catahoula) and 9 cats.

Yeah I have that struggle. The battle of a genius with a conscious against everything else. This art piece speaks to everyone in some way or another. It’s pure brilliance.
Its not hard to notice, but the speed at different points of the song protray different feelings on the internet. At first its fast, you hardly have a moment to register what he said before it's on to the next thing. It goes so fast you can't think properly. This represents the modern internet. Then it slows down, its gentle. It gives a hope for what we could be, and when he says "look at you" it means look for far the world has come since we first started using the internet, and look how much further it could take us. This represents the hope technology gives for the future. And then he laughs at the idea of that hope, and it speeds up so rapidly. It shows the danger the internet has exposed the world to. Information is so relevant, but the quality of that informative isn't checked. Anyone can say *anything* and people will believe it if it sounds true and they say it with confidence

It rubs me so wrong when it came from a fan, but when you love someone even if he never showed his face again I would never ask him to come back. This video make me tear up every time I hear it. It is a powerful and touching message about the obsession with "somewhere else" always being better than here. So we do not pay attention to what we have, just what we want to have. Religion takes advantage of this. Stealing from today as a promise of the future.

I personally have this song lined up, long-term, for my nephews n niece once they have a handle on English, to watch together and then fully dissect together. Make them aware of the risks once they can start accessing "the wider internet", and not just the Dutch side of it.

I am a 36 year old man. I never had a real grandfather. My one grandfather was kept from my family because he was an abusive alcoholic to my mother, aunt, and grandmother. I was told he died before I was born until I actually learned he died when I was 19. My father's father was a frog man in the military in World War 2 and left my grandmother before I was born. He was nice, and part of my life, but only a little bit. I think I met him 6 times before he passed and every time he wanted nothing more than to criticize my brother and I. My only real grandfather was my Grandpa Don, and he was just my grandmother's boyfriend. He was the only man in my life who acted like a grandfather, called me his grandson, and loved me as his own. He died when I was 8. I now have a second grandpa even though this guy isn't much older than myself. He just reminds me of Grandpa Don so much. Experienced, but still experiencing, rather than shutting out the way things are in the current moment and pretending everything was better when he was young.
