Welcome to Walt's Vault aka Walt+! At this channel our focus is preserving the legacy of the great Walt Disney, with special interests in his extended legacy concerning The Disney Channel (until 2002, although I may surprise you with some newer content) and several Halloween specials. Previously known on here as "halloweenguy," I removed my previous collections so I could reorganize them, full versions are available here: archive.org/details/@waltsvault
and new ones are uploaded here:

P.S: Sorry, Never Mind, This Cartoon Short 1935 was seen Uncensored on the Mickey Mouse in Color Volume 1 (1935-1938). for sources of the DVD screencaps. This will also face the #StoriesMatter Warning Disclaimer from Disney.
Just wait till the comments start rolling in from Gen-Z and Alpha kids. _"What's all that distortion, speckles, and squiggly lines on the top and bottom of the screen?"_ I don't know whether to laugh or cry at such comments.
I believe the 1983 version is shorter and the host is in a form of a talking pumpkin puppet. Meanwhile the newest version of its time has the off camera narrator.
Please take the minute to watch/read the video. Disney's Halloween Treat debuted in 1982 but reran again in 1983. Both versions had a talking pumpkin puppet. The 1983 version to A DIsney Halloween, the Disney Channel exclusive, kept the talking pumpkin's voice but removed all but a few frames of him while they reused Hans Conried's voice as the mirror from Disney's Greatest Villains.
My guess is it could’ve been a possible misprint. Or it could’ve been the Scary Tales version shown on The Wonderful World Of Disney where they replaced Sleepy Hollow with Lonesome Ghosts, and just slapped the Disney’s Halloween Treat title in the magazine.
While it's possible Scary Tales made its why to The Disney Channel - as did many syndicated versions of anthology episodes - I am certain it did not and the video explains there really is no reasoning. Probably a lazy editor just using the information available to him or her at the time, it's weird that one runtime is the precise duration to the VHS (note the broadcast edition was slightly longer in the opening) yet the other one reflects the programming block. But this is one of those things I don't think we'll ever know the answer for and the only reason I bring it up is because the entries across the years may confuse people and so far the 1982 and 1990 versions are expected to be about the same.
3:48 "SPAAAAACE GHOOOOOST!" Seriously though, Dreamfinders seems like such a great lost. Could've had potential given the success of Journey Into Imagination that has since been destroyed too T_T
I think the red team got shortchanged on the heroes and villains station. They should have gotten 4 contraptiles instead of 3, but I guess it doean't matter, because their lead would have still been so small that the blue team would have still won with one correct answet more than the red team in the magic category.
That will be... MICKEY MOUSE!!! Because there ARE every man OR woman (from all past Disney Channel programs and used from the audience) and every boy OR girl (also on every past Disney Channel programs and also from the audience) which did command the "30-second" countdown, but in the Disney satellite (in space) and at Mouse-ta-piece Theatere (on Earth) for the launch of the Disney Channel. The countdown began at 19:31 and Mickey switches up at 19:58. But before, there are a lot of Disney Channel programs and movies on-screen. Also for a news report for the launch of that brand new channel. After the countdown and the lever switch, there is a satellite beam going up to the sky, which is at 20:05. After, the logo for the Disney Channel was shown on-screen with fireworks behind it at 20:11. And that's it. We saw some programs coming out, like its first program, Good Morning, Mickey, which came out from 1983 to 1992. That is why because someone that is better to flip the switch up than the main mouse himself. But... IT IS PERFECT!!! IT IS THE BEST THING THAT I SAW!!! AND IT IS GREAT THAT THE DISNEY CHANNEL HAS LAUNCHED!!! YES!!! Oh my gosh.
BACK WHEN Disney was STILL Disney ... THANK YOU for THIS, I'M SO GLAD that THIS FOOTAGE STILL EXISTS, SOMEWHERE, when SO MANY of US, ME included, COULD NOT AFFORD a VCR and TAPES!!! PLEASE BRING BACK THE REAL DISNEY AND THE 1980S!!! As TIGGER might SAY - "YOOO-HOOO-HOOO-HOOOOOO!!!" 🥲💔🥲💔🥲💔
Does anybody know how many times they actually used this 60-second intro on the air? When The Disney Channel started restoring original anthology series intros in the 1990s, they missed this one except in the 30 second cut they already used as the all-purpose version for TDC reruns from about 1986 to 1997/1998 when everything old got pushed to Vault Disney.
I hope somebody discovers that full instrumental track and uploads it. It sounds like Disney gave NBC a copy of the opening theme without vocals rather than one of the closing themes (like they would later do for *The Golden Girls* ). Somebody still has to have that.
40 years ago, Disney Channel was the BEST network around. Until today’s generation just gone WAY downhill until if they could putting more stuff to understand of Walt Disney be proud of one visionary talent to give us something in better entertainment. I hope today’s youths will understand of what we’ve been through to see those shows growing up. Great vid. 😊
Not only this version has better detail and color, it also has a wider viewing aspect, you can tell by comparing this with the VHS recording that there is a edited black bar on the left, reason for it is to cover up some technical goofs. At 30:53 you can see a ladder on the left side and a visible hand at 31:04 you can see someone’s had shaking some white particles on the left. There might be more but that is what I have found so far.
RIP Ron miller, Diane Disney’s husband. I used to watch the Disney channel in the early 2000s. They used to air classic movies, documentaries, specials and other educational and fun content that was entertaining and engaging. I stopped watching to because they went to a different direction to target the young teenage demographic with more live action mediocrity, stale telefilms and very few animated programs that were unfairly cancelled after a short period. Now Disney channel is possibly going to shut down int he United States due to the majority of America no longer watching television and instead stream content on the internet
