Terry was shameful in blaming Custer, he gave him authority to attack at his discretion

Manifest destiny, that was the reason for war, Custer was a field commander under political orders to force the Indians back to reservation

Soooo. Just to recap. Correct me if I’m wrong. Tom Horn was a complete psychopath, had no mercy or conflicts of guilt and just did what he wanted to without a thought for the consequences because his dubious collaborators always bailed him out of trouble..?

The three men Kit Carson shot and killed in cold blood were Francisco and Ramón De Haro (twin sons of a former alcalde of San Francisco), and José de los Reyes Berreyesa, the 61-year-old owner of Rancho San Vicente south of San José, whose son was the alcalde of Sonoma. John Fremont and Kit Carson were not heroes. I am born and raised in San Rafael, Marin County, CA. The accounts of what happened at that time, by people who witnessed the events you so incorrectly narrate can be verified by information at the Bancroft Library in Berkeley, CA, the Mission San Rafael Arcangel basement archives and Olompali park.

@seankeyz5988 It wouldn't hurt to have visuals. it just adds lots of production time to each episode. I usually listen while I'm working in the garage or driving, so I look at it as a podcast.

Good episode, Chris. I appreciate you tying all the events together chronologically. It’s like having one of those big timelines that we had in school. It’s good to see what else was happening during significant periods.

So much happening in the world at the same time period. Where to be? Reliving the past at a wild west show or Tombstone? To the lions of tsavo to the first Kodak camera. The Irish potato famine had ended and in a few years, designs for the Titanic would be realized. Just amazing! I love history, particularly the old west. It amazes me how other areas were rising or falling at the same time. Now we sit around and WATCH past history instead of being a part of its development lol.

A time when humanity lived together in the real world and told the governments what to do. Nothing like today that's for sure.
