Welcome to the Official RU-vid Channel of Amanda Kimiko.
Amanda started sharing her comeback journey through 2 different cancer diagnoses during 2020 shutdowns, after being told she’d “never run or hike again”.
After fighting through advanced stage cancer, and overcoming debilitating surgeries + 16 months of chemo - Amanda climbed 30+ technical mountains, won trail races and OCRs, and then went on to qualify and compete in Ironman races leading to Ironman World Championships in Kona.
Amanda is on a mission to show others how UNBREAKABLE we all are.
Loved this vlog! You are such an inspiration ❤. I would love to hear more about your journey from eating a vegan diëtist to eating meat again, what symptoms did you experience that made you decide to eat meat again? I’ve been a vegetarian for over 20 years, but ive incorporated fish back in my diet for health reasons. So im very interested in your experience!
Your content is so awesome and inspiring, always motivates me to better myself 🔥Thanks so much for creating content, listened to the new Nick Bare podcast with you today, and loved it 😊
So great to hear that you loved the podcast! Thank you for being here and for the feedback on the videos! I love making them, so it’s great to hear that others are enjoying them as well!
Just finished the podcast episode and came over here to finish it off. I really enjoyed listening to you in a sit down more deep dive into your story and also how you over come obstacles. I wrote to you last week but you are an inspiration for me. I’ve been getting into mountaineering, my husband and I just climbed to Camp Muir a couple weekends ago and last weekend my husband and I both did a 5K race that I placed 1st overall in and my husband did 3rd place. That’s really made me feel encouraged to push harder and work harder for my longer term goals of ultra running and mountaineering. Thank you for being so positive and such a great motivation for me!
Thank you so much for your feedback! That’s so cool, I’m out hearing is actually how I got into racing as well! Muir is no joke!!! keep crushing it, I am cheering you on!
As a fellow celiac, I love the gluten free talk. Would be really interesting to hear more about how being celiac affects your experience as an athlete?
I’m so glad that you enjoyed the talk! It’s definitely unique experience, it makes racing a bit more challenging, but I would definitely love to give us more of a chat in future what I eat in the day video!
Thank you for sharing about friendships, it’s hard for me to find people with same interests and values. Mom of 4 and currently training for my first marathon and sometimes it gets lonely. However I will put more effort in getting around the right people 😊
So beautiful! I just went up American Fork to Cascade Springs, down to Bridal Falls. Nothing on earth like Utah in autumn! Thanks for sharing! Blessings 🙌
One thing I’ve noticed as I get older is that folks are getting friendlier. I’m 62, so it’s pretty easy to pick out the other olds that are running, hiking, climbing, etc. And, we tend to naturally bond because we’re still out there doing what we love. We’re slower than we once were, but we’re so grateful to be healthy and alive!
You have no idea how much you’ve inspired me!! I love how much true value you put in your videos that I can actually apply to my training and life every week!
I enjoy your videos and liked your more personal segment. I agree; Boundaries is an excellent book. I am learning the value of having good people around me--therapist, spiritual director and personal trainer, plus a few friends. They have given me the space to live into myself and discover things I didn't know I wanted. And I have released a bunch of weight & going to enter a short duatholon this weekend! Never thought that would be an option but I am looking forward to it.
@@SledgeHammer-vw6rf thank you so much for watching! Boundaries is incredible!!! I am so happy to hear you’ve made such great strides in your journey! Keep crushing!
My husband and I are what have made it a team sport. We have a six year old son and I love the idea that we are setting a good healthy example for him and hope he follows in our footsteps.
@@sydnee8689 that makes me SO happy to hear! I love that! Your son is definitely going to grow up knowing what it means to be active + how to make movement FUN! Way to go!
@@JustMissAmanda Oh thank you! I hope to inspire him. My husband and I are also into mountaineering which is a new journey for us. We take are son out to little hikes around Washington and then hit the bigger ones with just my husband and me. We did Camp Muir this last weekend and hope to hit Mount Adam’s soon! We also have a 5k race this next weekend so we are constantly moving and trying to get out there as much as possible. I’m new to your channel but you are so inspiring and I just wanted to say thank you so much!
I run much shorter distances than you, so I don’t have a team. But, I do thoroughly enjoy the park run community. And, I’m running in a Halloween themed trail run at the end of the month with friends. We’re all brainstorming on costumes we can run in 🤣🤣
As a smaller woman in the military as well. I love this video so much and it speaks to me in ways that you hit on the spot. You’re such an inspiration to us and we are grateful for you telling your story to the world. My favorite RU-vidr 🤍
