Tips and Tricks for building and repair wood and chain link fences and more,...basically all about fences, family and fun,..over 150 videos to choose from,..thanks for stopping by,..
Wanted to say I enjoy your videos . I've been building fence for almost 40 years. Mostly chain link. Don't really care to do wood fences. But I was gonna mention that if you don't know if your chain link will weave or work with an existing chAin link ,like in this video , just count the diamonds start at the top with a full diamond and count down. Usually it ll be anywhere between 18 -20 1/2 diamonds. Just so long as they're the same amount on both, they ll weave or work with each other. No problem. IDC if you're using 6 GA and trying to weave it with 12 1/2 ga itll work. Just as long as they have the same amount of diamonds. Hope that helps someone.
Not much of a magic trick. Yes it does work but looks like crap. I'm not sure I'd want to pay you for this job. Much better is a 1 foot or so of 1-1/2 inch pipe inside (assuming the pipe is 1-5/8) Then center punch 4 areas of the long pipe on each side of the splice so it's snug. You could also apply a little glue to the inside, but it's really not needed.
We have a double swing gate thats a 12’+ opening. We want to expand to at least a 20’ slide gate on grass. What would the widest we could go would you say? Its a side yard gate. So the opening would need to be enlarged. I think if we went back to the next post that would give us maybe 20’. Would that post need to be replaced if it is now and end post? What would you estimate this would cost to do? Just to give me an idea?
@@mycharmedunicorn8715 Hello,.. one thing to remember is that you will need at least 21' for the gate to open in to. So for a 20' opening you will need 21' for the gate to slide on. Let me know if I am making sense here,.. As far as the post is concerned, I have sleeved over posts and used them for a gate post. Cantilever gates are a bit more expensive but a way better style of slide gate system especially if you install the nylon wheels for the gate to slide /roll on, the gate should slide / roll like a hot knife through butter. The 20' slide gate system would be a bit more cumbersome to slide along the ground. Your choice though and it all depends on how much money you are willing to spend. I hope this helps out,.. thanks for viewing.
I am going to say steel, since it is the 9 ga. smooth wire I use for the bottom tension wire on chain link fences. Probably has a bit of galvanize to it,..
Sounds like you got it handled with the lattice,.. great idea for a gap filler,.. this is mainly for round steel fence posts,.. what about bolting another split rail post to the other post to fill the gap?
You’re wrong. This is clearly based on your own opinion of what a great movie is or isn’t. Someone already stated that Apollo 13 is better than those three. The narrative is superb. The script is clear and on point. Me personally, I think Alien is a fantastically well crafted film that happens to take place in space.
I was taught to always add an extra for any contingency like tree roots or other buried concrete sets from previous owners or something like that,.. always allow for the unseen circumstances,.. I also like to keep the spacing's equal,.. no 2 ft panel at the end, better to add a post then to have a two foot panel at the end,..thanks for viewing, I hope that I helped out a bit,.. keep smiling!
Its glad that you get it and can profit from it. Thank you sir! This is what makes America great. Men who take a negative and make something positive out of it. I'm sure this goes on more so in some cities than others.
Well i just scored some free fence posts and tubes not as thick but same as i got on my fence. Im so going to do this for a gate now thank you so much .
Yeah none of this is going to happen, the goal of the government and the wealthy isn't to reduce suffering of those who have least, it's to increase profit and power of those at the top.
@@JohnWillmanI am trying to secure the bottom of my chain link fence. It is currently loose. The run is about 100ft. I plan on adding tension wire at the bottom and than attaching the fence to it with hog rings to help secure it. Question should the 100 ft run of tension wire run uninterrupted from start to finish or should the tension wire start and stop between each post across the entire run?
@@clemensstepho411 If it is one continuous run, yes stretch the wire from one end to the other,.. if there are any uneven areas you can use the fence tie to tie the wire to the post to keep it in position or up off the ground while rolling out the chain link. I hope this helps out,.. if you need a more one on one, give me a call.
@@JohnWillmanthank you. One last question. Do you weave the tension wire through the fence fabric or does the tension wire just sit next to the fence fabric?
Well,.. I purchased two before the prices were raised and was given the third one because I was a customer that would put his tool to the test with the industry the tool was designed for. It's not all about money,.. it sure helps though,.. thanks for viewing,..
Not always an easy job sometimes, I guess you don’t get any frost lift in your area because with the head of concrete that post will have now it would be popping above ground in no time and 1500 bucks for that puller is stupid expensive. I just made one with scrap fence materials. It works ok but mostly use my mini skids
It definitely will work. I only use one wire and it always moves to my left right over the buried line. It will work over a trail of Carpenter Ants I just found out. Try it if you ever find a trail on these ants on top of the ground, they carry cut green leaves to their den.
Thanks for the affirmation on this working. I seen this done on the TV show White Water Gold, they found the vein of gold that was located under a creek bed of rocks. They wound up sluicing a huge 1 oz nugget,.. thanks for viewing,..
