I used the Line project tool to flatten the area. When you select the tool, click and drag, the area in the shadow formed by the tool will be cut, so how you drag actually matters, for it to work properly the mesh should have scale, rotation and location applied.
love the way how u sculpt the eyes, i like how u draw sharp to sketch over the mesh to locate everything in the face, i usually try to fit everything into the reference with clay strips and grab but im gonna use your method instead, nice work!
Thanks, and yes that really helps me a lot and another thing is I keep my poly count low because its easy to control, I only increase it when I need it
@@conydeptrai7122 its in edit>keyboard shortcuts (scroll all the way down to find it) incase you get stuck search for a tutorial about that. That how I learn about stuff here on RU-vid
Im a 3d artist and want to make the character monster garou, and i want to male. him in 3d, but there is no side reference views, wouls love.yo see you make one
That is cool, I might look into that but currently am quite loaded with work. Maybe you can use a male reference and when you get the basic structure you can tweak it to look like the character
Go to >Edit>Preferences>Add-ons search for Mesh F2 and enable it. With that add-on enabled in edit mode, every time you select a vertex that is between two vertices, or an edge and press F key, Blender will extrude a face from it.
@@jmundart ok ok, im new to 3d modeling so i didnt know if i needed to retopology my model if i didnt want to animated him, just static scene, thats what you did there right ?
It's a plane shape it to the ear shape, inset to get inner poly, then extrude the whole thing to get thickness, lastly rotating and moving to fit and extruding the part that connects to the head. I might do narrated tutorial on this...
Yes I use a graphic tablet, the cheapest I could find at that time (2018) it is a Huion Inspiroy H950P. As long as it supports pressure sensitivity and is compatible with the software, you are good to go.
@@misfit_xyz That cool. The brands most talk about is; Wacom, Huion, XpPen... But there are so many brands so do a research but the most important thing about a tablet is pressure sensitivity and it should be compatible with the software you are using
Looking forward to your course when you do get the time to make one. Also, perhaps a live stream video would work as well while you're working. Thanks for all you do.
Thanks. I have a tutorial series coming up soon but I won't be sculpting it will be mix of poly & box modelling. For live streaming not very soon my pc can't handle, maybe when I do an upgrade
Am working on some tutorials but its not easy with my not so good laptop. But you can search for Blender beginner tutorials here on RU-vid am sure you will find a lot of stuff
I do more of edge modelling same as if I was doing retopology and I find it easier when I use the sculpt to shape the head. Box modelling is a bit difficult for me especially when it come to shaping it in 3D to look right.
Yes expecially for characters since you need to be in control of how it flows, but for objects that won't be animated doing it with addons or retopo tools is a better way to work faster
Beautiful work and fun process as usual. It's so clean and every stroke looks intentional. I most times just flow with whatever method feels right at the moment but it sacrifices intentionality and doesn't always quite work 😅. And it sometimes wastes time. That's why it's so nice seeing people with proper workflows. This is based on Danny Mac's technique, right?
Thanks I totally appreciate your support. Yes my sculpting process is highly influenced by Danny Mac. Before I was bad at it and when I found this workflow, it changed everything.
Hey man ! Love the result ! You could've use the box mask and make a selection for the arrow. I made an Aang sculpt recently too, masking and painting made it very easy to paint the arrow. Keep up the good work ! 😃
