Louie has an amazing gift for taking the audience to exactly where his thoughts are. All the descriptions of this very specific situation. The air on the arm, the scanning, the counting… The way he says it is exactly what this is.
i know this video is 4 years old, but the intro music is waaaay to loud to hear anything ya'll was saying. but i guess this why they made a comment section lol
Bill is a master of subtlety. The entire premise of "reason to hit a woman" is a trojan horse so he can, at the end, educate and assist frustrated men on how to deal with women who don't fight fair. THAT is the real point of the bit, but the woman here thinks it's about the original premise. She missed it but the guys ALL pick this up. Thank God for Bill Burr. It's probably the single most brilliant bit in comedy history.
I can talk to my wife like that and we're in our late 20s early 30s. I never hit her though - I don't even think about it. And she knows I raise my voice only if she messes up. That's what I call "no ego" woman. She is willing to accept her mistakes unlike a lot of women who won't but will rather fight back despite the fact they screwed up or they're wrong about something. This is what I noticed (another way where women can put you in another room, just like Bill explained in his "no reason to hit a woman video"), in my years of arguments with many women. When a woman is wrong or she messes up, if you raise your voice, she will immediately put you in that room "why are you yelling at me? what is wrong with you!" ... blah blah blah...basically avoiding the main topic of the argument and rather focusing on you being an "asshole" for yelling. Can't they figure out that the reason we sometimes yell is purely out of emotion? It means we care. A man who doesn't care wouldn't be saying anything, he'd rather just avoid a woman altogether. Going out of the house early, coming back late as possible, barely talking. That's a no emotions guy - that's should be an alarm for women. Not his occasional yelling for a good reason.
13:47 - I think of this short every time I see someone with their "special pronouns" and nonsense gender listed in their social media profile. As would most normal people.
Back when I smoked everybody seemed to function just fine after getting stoned. But I was always in a whole nother dimension of reality that I didn't know existed.
