Sure it’s an old video now, but very helpful! Thank you. I ran into exactly the same issue yesterday 🤦🏻♂️ I have now ordered the, rather expensive; but necessary, Gilles tooling lock nut Along with the axle and cover. Now I must patiently wait 😏
Brother I've watched several of your videos and they have been very helpful to me. I greatly appreciate it. I hope you're doing well and are safe and sound.
Hi around 3:12 there is a rubber piece that can get stuck on the bike. Does anyone know the name/part number of said piece. Just did a spark plug change an noticed this piece was missing on one side.
It's an awesome video, have a like. I can't however stress enough the importance of cleaning the pistons inside calipers as well so they can operate with their full capacity. One piston not fully coming out is 25% less breaking power on that caliper. I don't clean them every time because it can't be done without removing the calipers from the frame, picking them apart, degreasing, cleaning, greasing again (very important) and finally putting them back together - it's a lot more work than just cleaning pads and discs.
my guy.. you should have showed the amount of wires and pipes needed to be disconected in order to be able to remove the coils and the sparks. it took me about 4 hours from start to finish. guys, if you are not confident in your mechanic skills don't attempt this.i also made the mistake of removing one of the banjo bolts from the ABS pump to make more space. now i need to also bleed my brakes. my hands are messed up eith scratches and bruises from trying to fit them in those tight spaces.
Dont have to but be careful not to tilt the tank where the two breather hoses are at . Fuel will come out of there. And of course its easier to to drain the fuel, but not totally necessary
why spray so much lube on chain and then after wipe away? do you never read the manual on the lube bottle??? "thin lube layer+24h drying" =Done if everybody use so much WD40 for chain cleaning is horroable !!!"" ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION""!!!
you telling bull shitt!!! are you unemployed or why did you clean&lube weekly and adjust monthly? otherwice your ride daily 100km or/and have cheapest chain 😂😂😂😂 on my s1000rr it's NOT required clean&lube weekly, every chain and lube manufactor telling to lube chain 600km! and addjustment depent from power of you bike and quality of the chain 🤣🤣🤣🤣 if you have ZZZ or threeD chain why you adjusting?? that be stretched and combine with M7RR, S20/S21evo/S22/K3 etc... the tires worn out before chain adjustment required. for a f**king powerless fz07 that must real real cheap chain, did take it from kids bicycle? 🙈🤢🤮🤮
No need to destroy the Nut . Use a Dremel Tool and remove the lip retaining the lock washer . Then use safety wire to retain the Nut . Or drill for a cotter pin.
You didn't "solved" the problem, you trashed it. And you bought a new one. It's amazing, im going to my garage right now, and ill try it immediately. Im so excited if it works for me too.:) Fingers crossed, guys! 🤞
Thank you so much for this video. The exact same thing happened to my MT07 today. Chain was loose so I went to loosen the axle nut and instead it chewed through the other side keeping me from turning the nut. Had to drill the nut in two and a half places along with some mallet and chisel persuasion.
While doing chain maintenance I must've tightened too hard on my mt09 because I damaged the adjusting block on the other side. I've done chain maintenance a hundred times but now the rear axle nut won't loosen or tighten all the way either direction it only goes so far. Any ideas on what could be wrong? I really hope I won't need a new axle. I ordered a new adjusting block aka chain puller. I'm hoping the Yamaha dealer can make this a quick fix.
Can't tighten or loosent the bolt! Well, unless the axle and/or bolt are rusty to the point of making the bolt get stuck. I can't think of another reason. I'm afraid that the threads on the bolt and axle are damaged and both need to be replaced. And even if you mange to loosen the bolt now, it will give you a hard time the next time you try to loosen it. Another thing I learned the hard way, is to always clean the threads on both the axle and bolt with a brush, on the axle before loosening the bolt, and on both beforing installing the bolt it again, this thing is always looking for a reason to get stuck, dirt is one of it's worst enemies. Good luck, and ride safe.
