After listening to the streaming version for so long, I finally got a physical copy of the album. I had no idea this version existed until it came on, much to my surprise!
This song hits different when you're actually from a town that gets a lot of tourists in the summer months who stay for a couple days, but hey, you're living there every day!
it wasn't Will's fault, or Matador's fault. both of them thought that they had the song 100% cleared, but apparently the team that cleared it wasn't actually authorized to do that, and then Ric Ocasek found out Will had changed one of the lyrics and got upset.
This is the finished version of the song. They finished it, they just weren’t allowed to issue it with the ending that uses a section from a Cars song, so they edited the ending to the version on most copies of the album.

I never gave this song a chance in far cry 5 because every time I heard this intro on the radio, I thought my games audio or the radio was fucking up so I switched to the Eden’s gate radio or just turned it off as a whole 😂😂
