40 hours into the game and this is by far my fav place, its so melancholy and bittersweet but so *stunningly beautiful,* u can hear the majesty that the city used to have...
Currently playing through this again in the hardest time of my life up to this point. Theres a comment in here that says the music feels like a dream I resonate with that. The whole game feels like a dream. It has quickly become my 2nd favorite in the series.
Me finding any and every excuse to go through the City of Tears and staying there for a while because this is my favorite place in the whole game. The soundtrack, the aesthetics and the rain itself, it all gives me such cozy vibes, I love it there.
Incredible isn’t it after all these years 1999 what a time for gaming man ….. the ps1 days I miss so bad I hope when we die it resets and we wake up to play this in those moments again. 😢❤
Notables: The MSX version of Final Fantasy features improved graphics and music, but has long load times and runs sluggishly compared to the Famicom/NES. It only released in Japan, but an English fan translation is available(linked in description). Saving and loading requires swapping to a user disk that stores the data to confirm before swapping back to the game disk.
Notables: This game has an example of dynamic difficulty scaling. The first level has you playing as the father (blue dragon), and if you die the son wakes up having seen it as a vision and you play as him instead (gold dragon). Playing as the gold dragon is much easier and excludes some of the harder levels.
This is so... comforting. It's like a music of a tragedy. A tragedy where... the glimmer of hope, no matter how faded, still shines, even amidst the chaotic and all too destroyed ruins, there's still hope. That's what I feel when I listen to this music, it's my favourite theme in the game. It helps me cope a lot.
FF8 really has some of the best ambient and epic soundtracks for its time.., to imagine it was a PS1 game. Even if you dislike the story or junction system... :p
Absolutely beautiful, this piece is utter perfection along with this game, I’ll never forget quitting down on broken vessel (I know, I was pretty bad), and after finally beating it months after I had bought the game, coming back up to the city of tears and hearing this music at that time of my life I didn’t know it yet, but it was one of the most magical things to have happened to me in life, and thinking of those times now makes me sad, this music quells those thoughts, I love hollow knight.
This is Cozy's jam. Nice to listen to this in the mountain cabin, away from people, staring at the mountains. Is super cozy. Thank you fren for posting this, it makes Cozy's day/night.
Just listening to this song conjures up the smell of the room I used to play this in (I think my Dads aftershave??), new Dragonball Z episodes straight afterschool, knocking on freinds houses seeing if they could come out and play footy (soccer, to the yanks). Such a wonderfully peaceful and striaght forward existence.
Heard this years ago, and now re hearing it while working on a big project. I thank you for uploading this and giving such a pleasant song to listen to.
