Sorry Angela, nobody cared when I walked in begging for help. They decided it was best that my license be revoked. I was actually told 'dont worry lots of people take this medication and can still drive, you should be fine' I was not. So a special thanks to Forthvalley hospital for the help that I did not receive.
This is helpful. Within a few minutes. UNDERSTANDING what is going on and most just say things flippantly… Thanks again. Right now, as cough is often, i exhale all the way and let the cough trigger and when it stops so some huffs and sure enough. El-flemo. Spit it out and not swallow it too.

I have participated in a number of videos regarding COPD and the first thing you are shown is breathing exercises before starting any of the exercises, etc but I found they only mentioned breathing near the end of the sessions.
The last section of this video should be the first part. Why? There is ZERO mention of diaphragm breathing at the beginning. The exercises don’t have any instruction on when to inhale through the nose and exhaling for twice that time through PURSED LIPS, as if blowing out a candle but more SLOWLY and SILENTLY. This help rid the lungs of trapped air, the waste product of breathing. People with emphysema have a terminal illness affecting their lungs. They can improve quality of life, but there is no cure. Their body can no longer rid itself of “used breath”, and air can’t escape the lungs. Bad air clogs the transport of blood attempting to pump throughout the cells and keeping the heart muscle free of disease. If you smoke, whether it was two a day for a week or two packs a day for decades, or if you still smoke today - get used to the thought of 24/7 oxygen to stay alive with a tube in your nose pumping the air into your damaged lungs. Quit smoking, get a PFT1 breathing test IMMEDIATELY!! No need to suffer because there are meds to help ease the pain of emphysema - whether Stage 1, stage 2, stage 3 or stage 4 (the END-STAGE). Read the book by Allen Carr to help you to stop smoking - he tells you to KEEP SMOKING WHILE YOU READ THE BOOK. I guarantee you will begin to seriously consider quitting by short Chapter 2. It is funny, informative, and better than a nicotine patch. Why buy nicotine, the killer, and pump it into your bloodstream via your arm? Read the book! If you never smoked, DON’T!!
An excellent and very informative video, very many thanks indeed.😊 I do exercises on a daily basis and I’ve really benefitted from them. Recently after badgering my Dr I was really fortunate to be able to go on 2 week Pulmonary Rehab course twice a week for 6 weeks. I can’t tell you how brilliant it was! If any other lung disease patients feel they would like to give it a go, please ask your Dr, and in necessary, give badgering him/her…after all it’s our bodies we’re doing the very best we can for! 😊
hospital delay treatment, and unnecessary procedures for increasing patient bills and risk patients life, there must be overlooking body for this inhuman medical demons
I have had an allergic reaction to the Magellan safety due to the alloy used. I will go back to using the BD plastipak since I have no history of metal allergies with them. Magellan is refusing to let me file a complaint. All metal allergy sufferers do not trust Magellan.
I have been searching for this much information on my persistent cough. Doc gave me an inhaler and for me in particular, the inhaler has made things worse. There is so much information in this video and i feel super optimistic going forward. Thank you so much for this video
I find it enormously helpful to lean right over forwards, even get upside down. This enables gravity to do the work. I have an inversion table, but haven’t had to use it in a long while. I also find a salt inhaler useful.
You keep repeating not to do too much exercises. It think it is wrong to say. People with lung problems do not exercise enough or nothing at all. There is no problem of them overexercising because they simply can't do it. I managed to get my mother through exercising program in hospital under physiotherapist's supervision to do exercises on a regular basis but after home visit by another physio she stopped because she was told that going to toilet and back was enough walking for her. My mother deteriorated rapidly after that and I couldn't get her into exercising again.
