Hi there beautiful humans! I'm MacKenzie, and this is my RU-vid channel! I am a North Carolina Native, traveling around, eating my way through cities, and sharing photography & film tips! I am passionate about food, and how it brings everyone together in every walk of life. It is used for comfort, for love, and for nourishment. I am also passionate about showcasing amazing, local restaurants in the places I travel to. Traveling is in my blood, and I can't wait to show you the places we will go.
I hope I can encourage you to travel to places you've never been, explore your hometown, eat adventurously, immerse yourself in culture, and to dream big. Whether that be stepping outside of your comfort zone and traveling somewhere new, or taking a deep dive into the amazing food around you that you never knew existed.
Great bags but tiny improvements would AMP the practicality. The purse needs a back pocket for quick access things that you DON’T care are stolen; i.e.. hand wipes, chapstick, lotion etc.. The backpack could use side pockets for water bottles. There need to be pockets for quickly accessing things like that. Otherwise, the use of lobster claw clips is great for looping your bags and backpack through your dining chair, subway/train poles, etc…
Great video, we are trying to plan a trip for early next year. Could you share the name of the oil that you use to put behind your ear that sounds great.!
Firstly you had never been there so it is amusing you are telling people what to pack to go there lol none of this is specific to Hawaii! The stomach is an internal organ so stomach down makes no sense ... That utensil set is not small or portable... why not take a set of your own cutlery?? LOL! Winter coat and winter clothing is an awful idea ... how big is your luggage?
After doing a ton of research for years, as well as having locals as close friends, this is what I came up with. It’s not an end all be all, but any guidance helps people. Winter clothing is absolutely needed if you’re doing the sunrise at Haleakala…it’s below freezing and windy.
Hi MacKenzie. I know this video is older, but I hope you see this comment and can answer my question. I'm going to visit family in Hawaii and I am on the larger side. Do you think a heavy person could fit in the seat belt? I don't consider you big at all I just know for a fact I am myself and really don't want to pay almost $600 for this experience but not be able to do it lol I tried emailing the company a few weeks ago but haven't heard anything so now I'm looking to people who have experienced it and what they thought of the seatbelts. Take care!
$600?! They've really upped the price from when we did it! I would say the seatbelt does stretch, but depending on where you carry your weight, it would be fine. The seatbelts do lock, like a car, for safety. You do stop every so often as well to get out and get adjusted if you needed to.
The original Jurassic Park wasn't really filmed on this location. It was filmed on a different island. There are signs, and when you stop, the guides tell you what you are looking at.
You can! We brought a change of clothes with us. The Ranch is super easy to find. They stop sometimes for photos at lookout spots. There is nothing longer than a 2 hour tour.
Yassssss girl!! You should definitely start writing about St Augustine because I’m doing the same. I love it there I’ve been there in 2020 it’s so much fun to explore there.♥️♥️😁😁😁😄😄❤️
Thanks for sharing! I'm currently looking for an anti theft mini backpack for my trip to Italy so the backpack does look and sound nice. Something I can store a little bit of everything in (umbrella, water bottle, thin cardigan, etc) on the days that I'm just out exploring. I feel like the smaller bag wouldn't be enough for my needs. The mini roomy backpacks are just so nice for extra storage.
Everything was sort of in the same area like that, but we passed by a few scenes with big bones and skulls as well. I believe the full skull and rib cage is a drive by area, not a stop.
Im only going to spend one night at Aulani, do you recommend that I spend all day to absorb all that resort has to offer or do you think I will be bored and should I do what you did. Go out to the Jurrasic park tour and come back to relax? (We are a couple with no children) Thanks!
It honestly depends on what sort of vacation you’re looking for. Aulani has a ton to do, especially now with things opening up. But it’s also super relaxing and could easily be spent all day by the pool or ocean. Aulani is actually pretty far from everything. Ko Olina is it’s own little area on the island, so nothing is convenient to get to. I would say getting to Kualoa took about 45-an hour from Aulani. BUT…I could also spend all day at Kualoa, and wish I did.
You’re not speeding, but you are on trails that are uneven. You don’t really get bounced around since you are buckled in, but it’s definitely not a smooth ride. Painful? Not at all.
@@jaclynjutras5205 oh, that’s hard. I know they have waivers and rules for each of their tours, so I would suggest giving them a call to see what is available and safe for you to enjoy!
Love your video! We are going to be flying out of CLT and will be coming the day before. We tried Kings BarBQ the last time we were in Charlotte and did a RU-vid video there. This looks like a must try place too. Thanks for all the detail in this video. You rocked it! Looking forward to watching more of your videos. Just subscribed to your channel!
Thank you so much!! Kings is a staple as well. So glad you tried it! Make sure when you fly out that this is open. They are closed on Sundays and Mondays, and they usually take the week of the 4th of July off completely. They do take cards now, which makes things easier as well! Enjoy! Have a safe trip!
These are super lightweight, and after 4 years of having them, they still look brand new! And they’ve been everywhere with me. Always good to have lightweight bags!
Now or never…do what you want when you want and you end up broadening your horizons in the end. I too found most uber drivers very nice and depending where you are you’ll have the same one more than once. Traveling solo can leave you empowered
My great grand uncle owned a gas station at Carolina beach in the 1930’s. He also owned a gift shop at the boardwalk. He let my grandmother run the gift shop when she was a teen. She had a boyfriend before she met granddaddy. She said his dad ran a hotel at Carolina beach. He ran a popcorn cart. She said my great great uncle had a pet monkey at his gas station to get customers. She said it jumped on the table one time she said she was afraid of it.
@@MacKenzieTaylorMartin I loved her stories of her gift shop. It sounded like it was a lot of fun during the Great Depression. In 1933 my great grandad passed away from a heart attack. So it was just my great grandmother, my grandmother and my great aunt. My great grand uncle looked after his little sister. So took grandmother to have fun at working at the shop. My grandmother told me she would ride the train to come to Wilmington. The train douse not go to Wilmington any more.
@@MacKenzieTaylorMartin I can not drive I wish the train still ran to there I would love to go to the boardwalk, the donut shop, the aquarium, go to the battleship, go to the river, etc.
The only place we stopped at that was Jurassic World was the little place I showed in the video. BUT, every tour guide is different and there are stops that some skip and some go to. There is a Jurassic Tour that stops at most locations known to fans, but it is not in the ATV.
@@MacKenzieTaylorMartin yes. Hope you have tried some of his other restraunts. Little mamas. Midwood smokehouse. Almas pizza is coming soon. Ya Fo kitchen. Cafe sol. Pacos tacos and tequila.
Thanks for all the great info (new subscriber!). We are headed to Maui next month, so this is super helpful. Monkey pod is on our list! Bummer on the fog! Trying to decide if I should drag my family up to the volcano for sunrise…
Totally do it. The fog will dissipate after you get higher. Make sure to get your tickets! Only time you need admission is for sunrise. Not for sunset though.
@@MacKenzieTaylorMartin it made me laugh as well! great video btw - I am about to head on a month long trip to Sarasota. I am planning on making some solo travel video’s. 🥂
I’ve been to Maui multiple times but it’s always so stressful finding a place to eat. I’ve been to some on this list and agree that they are great so I’ve saved a bunch of other of your recommendations to try on my upcoming trip. Thank you for this video!
That's so awesome! I really care about having great food experiences in new places, and trying to eat as local as I can when I travel, so I did a TON of research before my trip and came up with these, went to them, and enjoyed! I am so glad I could help you in your upcoming travels! Enjoy!
During the actual driving, there is no narration, but we followed our guide, and made stops throughout the tour and they gave some history/narration at that point.
They locked in place after you put them on, but you want them secured with how bumpy it is. The staff is super kind and helpful at the ranch, so I’m sure if you called, they would be able to advise you better. There are tours you can do that are without seatbelts as well. They are group tours in more of an open air bus, and they take you to some spots around the ranch you may recognize. I think if you can, just get to the property and do something, somehow. This side of the island is insanely different and beautiful than the side that Waikiki & Honolulu is on. It’s worth the drive, and the ranch is a perfect place to relax or have adventure.
I'm with you on the eggs... just nasty. Eggs only belong in baked goods where you can't taste them because you have enough butter and sugar to cover up the gross that is eggs.
