Hello I have been growing Disa for several years and appreciate seeing well grown plants, and will give your potting mix a try ,you haven't mentioned how and what you water with, Disas have a lovely range of colours and as they are cool growing they don't require much artificial heat ,I have found watering and the strength of feed is problem, I thought I had to tell you that that display is credit to you and your other Orchids look nice clean and healthy, Thanks for sharing it with others on youtube
Thanks for the feedback. Mine grow outside just under shade-cloth. Our temps vary from 0C to 30C. I use a 12 month slow release pellet that I buy in bulk as well as a fertilizer called osmoform when first potting up. Other than that I just water when they look like drying out with town supply using a hose.
Thanks Warren. I’m getting into cymbidiums and have some that need repotting. I’m getting ready and watching your videos first. They’re excellent thanks. Hello from the Mornington Peninsula!
I have just bought one and so love it. But the pot is too small and i think in spring i need to repot it to a bigger pot. May i ask if i can buy the special soil like urs in the video to repot it? I dont know where to find it. Its may stupid to ask but we dont use normal soil for this type of plant, right? Thanks so much ❤
I make my own mix & I would suggest contacting your local orchid society as they usually can advise what or where to get it & most actually sell it. Cymbidiums mostly grow in trees so no soil is not good as it stays too wet for them.
Hi, your disa's look so healthy! I just bought my first ones and they are planted in sphagnum moss. This is such an informative video, thanks. Can I ask what brand potting mix you used and where do you buy the osmaform from? Do you keep yours in a tray of water or just water them like normal?
Hi Warren .So beautiful, thank you. just wondering what sort of mix do you use for them and as I know they should sit in weater all the time but yours not? how often do you watering them, thanks
Hi Warren, I’d love to buy some of your orchids. Are you in SE Queensland? How could I contact you? Don’t quite know the protocol. Hoping to hear from you if possible.
So what do you do with it water throughly or not but some and leave it partly sunny ☀️ or not .... Mine always die or some little percent live but take a long while to grow back so mostly I left it grow wildly in the old pots
I can feel the cool air from here! Extraordinary specimens, Warren, please give any tips you might. Airflow, humidity, light...I've never seen so many so gorgeous! Where do you get them?
