Hello People! BE NICE, IT'S FREE and KEEP STRIVING!
About me.
Hey there, I'm Hazel, a Filipina married to my Sri Lankan husband and currently living our own version of life here in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
I'm a finance professional of more than 10 years turned to a stay at home mom (SAHM). Trust me, corporate world is much more easier than the home-bound world, so DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE any stay-at-home parent, so BE NICE, IT'S FREE! 🌻
I started (well restarted) vlogging or sharing our life to you to keep memories and share it with our family back home. It's tough to be away, especially now that we have our family, so be nice.
Will highly appreciate appropriate comments as later on my little ones will be seeing these moments in our lives.
Enjoy, keep safe, and God bless!

Always remember to be nice...not everything in the vlog is our WHOLE LIFE :)
For those who are currently considering taking this DET test. My best advice is that if the deadline for your proficiency requirement is close, then yes, you should go for the DET because you will get your result earlier than other standardized tests; in my opinion, the DET is also easier. But if you still have time and are confident in your English skills, I suggest you choose IELTS or TOEFL. Here are the reasons: 1. While the DET is easier and less stressful to take, they often don't certify your test for many reasons, and your test is proctored by AI and NOT HUMAN. So if you don't get certified, the decision is final and your appeal WILL be replied to by a robot. 2. IELTS and TOEFL are recognized in more colleges than DET, and their system is professional. You will receive a score that matches your capability rather than one graded by AI. They also have an online edition that is proctored by a real human who would help you at any time. If you decide to take the DET. Here are some tips to get your test certified. Turn off all electronic devices and put them outside of your room, make sure your face is well-lit, don't look outside the screen, don't wear glasses, and uninstall and disable all typing suggestions, including Mac Magic Bar. I wish someone would have told me these key points before I took the test so that I don't have to spend over $200 for retaking because my deadline is in a week. Please share this with someone who needs it, and good luck with your tests.
hello, depends on what you use. It’s online. And during the test, the screen will automatically on full screen and cannot be exited until u finished the exam. Good luck!
Hi! sorry for very late response! What I did was just kept practicing. I also mentioned I checked other resources online. You can also watch videos about IELTS - it’s a great help too!
So you must learn how to write before critisizing Duolingo. Bcs it is the biggest language learning community in the world, but little children like you can't understand it😊
Hi! It’s not fake - it’s a very helpful tool on learning languages. When you say “cancel test” probably there are rules or guidelines that were not followed.
I just watch DET lectures here on yt for 2 weeks (I recommend Teacher Luke’s channel) it really helped me a lot. It gave me techniques and tips on how to get the best possible answer in all test questions. I received my results today and I got 135/160 overall :)) Just practice and be confident, YOU’VE GOT THIS, I believe in you !!
Hi! sorry for very late response! How was it? Did you do it again? When you say “reading written statement” probably in the camera it’s showing that your reading something or eyes are somewhere else but the screen
that’s good. I cannot guarantee the score you will get in the actual exam. but if you’re confident enough, and you are ready then guess it’s time to take it.
Excelente video. Thanks for sharing it! I just started preparing my self to the D.E.T and the tips you gave on the video is going to help me a lot. Thanks again.
my current score from practice is 85-130 idk there are really long empties between 85-130 does anybody practice it now and has approximately 110 - 130 score to help me because i really have no idea what i am doing wrong
Hi! I started to my journey with a score around 80-90. Now i took the real test to study abroad. my practice tests were between 110-125. And here's what i did: 1-Reading practice books helped me increase my vocabulary and i started to improve my writing by this. 2- listening videos, movies and series in English was very useful for me. And it helped me in the listening part. 3- consuming social media and reading/writing comments in English helped me maintain a good conversation even unfamiliar topics. In my first 2-3 weeks ,i was studying over 4 hours a day, then i didn't even study recently.
What if we get cursor out of window warning while writing the test ,if we move the cursor like almost out of the window but i didn’t close the window or exit from the test , I was on the same test window but still got the warning ..will test get uncertified?
Hi, Am practicing at Duolingo website while my score 80-120, my question is that what is differences between real and practices test scores? i need some guideline.
Hello! Apologies for really late response. To be honest, it’s basically similar, the practice test and the actual test. You just need to be very careful in terms of your surroundings- should be silent, you should only look at your desktop/laptop, no earphones/headphones.
