It feels different because the af1 has a cupsole and flat bottom so even though it’s thick it’s skateable…..with these you could get a few tricks in them with work but the outsole would suck to deal with because of the small lugs.
Have you done your research about down fills? Because it seems you have gotten it wrong. The number 700, 900 etc. have nothing to do with absolute amount of down use. So it doesn’t tell you anything about it’s absolute insulation capabilities. The numbers refers to the quality. The higher the number the better the weight to volume ratio. Which means a higher number will indicate a product can technically be lighter and warmer for the same volume compared to a lower number.
I domt remember going into a deep dive of down fills in this video I think I put a link for people. Thanks for repeating that information. I’m sure that will help educate many people.
Got my first pair in 1966 as a 12 year old...have been wearing them ever since!....at best guess, probably at least 12 pairs. The coolest man ever Steve McQueen, wore them.
Leaving out pit zips is such a weird omission, especially when the lesser model has them. Would have bought this in a heartbeat if they had them, as I’m struggling to find a good packable jacket that doesn’t have a massive helmate compatible hood.
Man. I remember thumbing through CCS catalogs, and seeing most of these when I was young, just starting to skate. Seeing all those shoes (and boards, trucks wheels clothes, ALL of it was so unobtainable to me at the time.) I was even skeptical that the CCS catalog itself was completely free, when first hearing about it from my cousin. I was absolutely pumped when I started receiving CCS catalogs in the mail- it dealt like I was getting a free subscription to a magazine.
@@SOLESERFER definitely. At the time I was in 4th grade when i received my first catalogue. Unless it was my birthday or Christmas, I wasn’t getting anything from CCS unless it was like some hardware, or stickers or something. My only ‘income’ was a $2 weekly allowance, and $20/week during the summer for cutting my grandparents grass.
Button at waist will always be better, reason i always gravitated towards ben davis. Have one pair for 25 years, hand-me-downs from my cholo cousin. 😂 ironically, they used to fit me big, and 10 years later, they fit me perfectly. So I've been wearing them for around 15 years.
@@SOLESERFERI love the ones you have in 5th spot. The one's with the tear drop air unit. It's actually the first time I've seen them. Can't believe I missed those back in the day. Have they ever been gi en a retro?
Yeah they have but the colorways have looked kind of generic from the ones I saw (only in photos) never seen them for sale here in the US but I coulda missed it.
@@SOLESERFER for sure!!!! I just wanna find good dickies with a lil more stretch, i saw another five pocket pant from them that looks good and i just wanted to know the fits before buying
FYI, the Spanish word "hierro" (meaning "iron") is pronounced YEH-ro ...in Spanish you'd roll the r, but not when speaking English. Thx for the review.
Hey what’s up don’t know if u remember me my nickname was benji aka (spriggs) from cross lanes. Used to skate for balzout with Josh ctitenton and Ben barley, Jamie Conor and all the others from cross lanes.Used to come skate at iguana all the time with andy(Elvis ) king and joey Serrato and a bunch of others.so many good memories man. I remember seeing u at a contest behind the Dunbar elementary school doing backside totally tweaked out mute grabs 4 foot over the coping. I always wondered what happened to you and your career skating. Man you were definitely our hero back then
Hell yeah! That’s rad….great times back then. I randomly ran into joe serrato at the skatepark in Charlotte NC one day when I was living there.ive seen benji a few times over the last decade or so…saw Jamie once, Andy a cpl times. I ended up skating for Alien Workshop all through the 90s until I hurt my knee but yeah still skating a little when I’m not injured. Great to hear from you!

I wish that Nike could have made the Pegasus Trail 5 to look more like the Trail 2 (let's wait and see what they do when they launch the gore-tex version) I have this exact same colorway as you do and it is absolutely sick just how aesthetically pleasing it looks. They botched it up on the 3 and 4 where the focus was to shave off weight at the expense of durability. Now the 5 is more focused on being a hybrid (which IMO, the 2 already does an excellent job) but from what I understand the new 5 does not provide great stability when running on rocky technical terrains. Edit: I considered buying a pair of the trail 5 last weekend but after holding it in my hands and fitting it on, the quality of the shoe overall felt a bit cheaper and less durable, the energy return coming from the trail 5 didn’t feel as good as what I was getting wearing my GTX2 on the other foot. The only part that did impress me much was how comfortable it was on the upper foot, specifically the lace up and padding of the tongue. In fact, that comfortable fit flowed through the entire shoe as you slip your foot in. Again, perhaps the gor-tex version will solve the durability concern I have.
