So all wiring had to be dun directly from the swicth wire harness an not from the headlight, so i have to run the extra wires from inside the car. So i have to test each wire from each pin inside an make groung at the headlight harness correct?
With my mk4, the DRL power was fed by my light switch in the 'off' position. With a multi-meter or test light, locate the wire coming from the switch that feeds the headlights with switch in off position. I re-wired that feed from switch to a relay to the replacement LED DRLs I added.
standard automotive 15A, but that was what I had on hand. If you are rewiring to LED lights, you could get by with a 5A relay... but 15A relays can be had almost anywhere.
I was looking all over just explaining the fog control switch. I was trying to wrap my brain around how to access the fog lamps . You pull !! Man. Great video. Thanks for the review !
Sold the car... If I recall correctly, the DRL relay is powered from the switch on one of the Yellow wires. I'd suggest using a multimeter on the connection, the wire that looses 12volt power when the switch is moved to 'parking lights' is your DRL feed (not high current, but signal feed).

Only have the video... Did so long ago, I would remember much. What I do remember. Ran new wire from euro switch for DRL relay so that I could return to original later. Wires came from recycle yard that I pulled a fuse block and switch harness from for wire ends.
Not sure. The switch, EU Style, I purchased needed only the addition of the rear fog wire add to the plug, all other functions used the original wiring.
Jim Pehler ok thanks its because i have A set of gli headlights with hid kit but the turn signal lights only turn on when i plug everything in, you have an idea what the problem is?
Aside from the drls, was this plug and play? Because I've acquired a euroswitch and nothing turns on in the headlights when I turn on the parking lights. The tail and corner bumper lights do, but nothing on the headlights.
Was plug and play... without modifying the electrical harness, the headlights should be on when the car is started which is DRLs, parking lights should turn off headlights and on running lights, full on should turn headlights on in addition to running lights. If this is not how your switch is working, you may have a bad switch.
Headlights are stock US lights. The Euro switch allows the use of the "running" lights (city lights in UK) and the Fog light features. I made the Daytime Running Lights using COB LEDs (three per side).
