Hey guys. Enjoyed the video. 2 Cards that I am adding to my Arna deck that I am building are Halvar, God of Battle and Kappa Cannoneer. I think you could get good value adding them to this deck as well.
Considering it was done in about 1h this is a very solid brew. One thing that's always an issue for Izzet spellslinger decks (especially with casting reduction) is the constant need for more mana pips. Both Diamonds, Fellwar Stone, Star Compass, Ornithopter of Paradise are some cheap options for that. There are also some more cards that are mana positive or mana neutral to cast once you have a reduction of 3-4 and will allow you to storm off and churn through your deck: - Tezzeret's Gambit - Frantic Search - Seize the Spoils - Visions of Ruin - Inspired Tinkering - Mana Geyser - Turnabout - Pirate's Prize - Pirate's Pillage - all the ritual effects though they obviously drive the budget up Clout of the Dominus is such a great fit here. For a couple of pennies and 1 mana to give your commander haste and shroud. Generally speaking regarding interaction and counters: they should be available and functioning in the worst circumstances (commander not on the field and/or no tokens for reduction). A simple Counterspell costs the same amounts of pips like a Mindswipe but will always work. The typical Unsubstantiate, Memory Lapse, Mana Leak, Miscast, Spell Pierce, Stubborn Denial (does require commander but better then the other options), Foil (great protection for when you start to storm off and super budget) and Mystic Confluence (great for budget brews and synergizes well here). Volcanic Torrent, Immolating Gyre and Mizzium Mortars are some one-sided sweeper options. Mizzix's Mastery is a big value card too and can sometimes end the game. Archmage Emeritus is huge value for such a deck and might fit with a bit of budget shifting/card swapping. Would cut the greedy kind of cards like Clone Legion and Access Denied and replace the 4cmc tokens creators (we need tokens before the commander), the Clown Car (not worth the $ in a budget brew and unreliable mana to token conversion) and Dragonmaster Outcast (too slow) for simple 2-3 cmc sorceries that create 2-3 tokens immediately.
While you dont have a TON of crime stuff in the deck, i'd suggest Jagged Barrens for a tapped dual land since it counts as a crime pinging someone for 1. Might as well use it because you're running At Knife Point and Take For A Ride. Strictly better than just running a guildgate.
The cEDH community was way more welcoming and friendly than the casual commander community when I was learning the game… At least in my experience it’s the other way around.
Goblin deck tldr: has a common turn 2 win in mono red with the back up of putting just way too much power for the curve. It turns out, a lot of top meta decks can't deal with trample, first strike, unlockable by tokens, 28 CMDR power on turn 4
Me: i know this voice who is this. Its one character.... Who was it.... THE ONE GUY WHO PLAYED THE UNCLE ON THE LEMONY SNICKET MOVIE WITH JOHNNY DEPP. THE ONE GUY WITH THE GIANT SNAKE.
I recently built a ragga dragged deck, and it's far from being competitive but omg it's also far past being casual, I did a combo that gave me 29 58/58 that gave them haste and trample.... I love the deck so God damn much
This is exactly what a casual who doesn’t play cEDH would say. I enjoy both, but my time is limited and I’d rather play to win 6 times in an evening instead of one casual game where people are on their phone and whine when you counter/remove anything
first time playing magic in paper was when i (stupidly) bought the dominaria united painbow deck knowing full well i didnt have the lands to make it work. i then entered the cheap tornament going on that day not understanding that Saturdays was cEDH day and got back to basics every damn match i didnt get curb stompped by urza or malcolm/partner
This card is really fun in my Riku deck because I multicast it like 8 times and then we get to resolve it, check triggers etc, resolve it, check triggers. Etc. The chaos it slams onto the board is so much fun.
