1 OF MY ALLTIME FAVORITE KARTOON SERIES THAT WHEN I 1ST SAW IT IN RERUNS, MOST OF THE HUMOR WENT RIGHT OVER MY HEAD! BUT I ❤ IT ANYWAY BCUZ OF FRACTURED FAIRY TALES,MR.PEABODY& SHERMAN & OF COURSE"MOOSE & SQUIRREL"
Long time fan of the show here, enjoyed it since finding reruns in the 1970s during childhood. Of course most of the satire and wit flew over my head as a youngster. They got away with a lot of wacky humor and naughty jokes, like the little aliens answering "How do you start a fire?" by saying "Rub two Boy Scouts together". Also, the crude style of animation (done cheaply in Mexico as I understand) didn't matter because the voice acting, writing and pacing were what counted on this zany series. June cracks me up, claiming she purposely didn't give Natasha Fatale a Russian accent. It's totally that. This special, however, seems very heavy on clips from the R&B Show and not quite enough "meat" on the making of these funny misadventures. I know, there _are_ interviews peppered throughout with people behind the cartoon, but I wasn't expecting so much filler. Mind you, I'm glad this is available on YT for admirers of the series to discover. Lastly: it's ironic that this video aired on PBS, because the R&B Show poked fun at public television (even in a clip included in this documentary, ribbing the pledge drives). Nothing was sacred, everything was fodder, LOL. Thanks.
OF MOOSE 🫎 AND MEN THE ROCKY & BULLWINKLE STORY ( HQ AUDIO ). IS SO TOTALLY 💯 AWESOME 🤩 NOW THATS ENTERTAINMENT EXTREMELY GOOD 😌 WHEN WAS 😯 A LITTLE GIRL 👧 WE HAVE FUN 🤩 THE RED HOUSE 🏡 GOOD 😌 TIMES HAVE A GOOD 😊 TIME
I think the narrator of this narrator didn't mention Aesop and son from this show. So I'll talk about it. This segment is to deal with fables. For most people, a fable is a story with a moral or lesson at the end.
THE MOOSE THAT ROARED by Keith Scott tells of Jay Ward's frustration with Gamma Productions in Mexico City. Its building was split in two by an earthquake--animators crossed the crack on planks! Gamma sent work shot from torn and filthy cels. The sequence at 38:07 has a hole in one cel! I'd like to see the footage of Natasha walking that sent Ward's crew into fits. Still, the hinky animation lent a certain charm to the cartoons. But at the time, it drove them NUTS!
I watched the show as a small child in the 60s and again in the 70s. This in spite of the fact that it was not considered cool at the time for a teenager to watch it.
Yeah, that serial format may have been ahead of its time (like many other aspects of this show). Thanks for enjoying this little excerpt of the show and your comment.
@@RumbleFree Now, they're all on youtube, albeit with all the side stories like Peabody & Sherman or Fractured Fairy Tales cut out, so it's just the main Bullwinkle and Rocky plot.
We were so inspired by the show growing up that we went to believe it was Sunset Boulevard there was the J ward it was Bullwinkle statue and then you could walk in there and buy cells raw cells to make your own animation and we were going to go into animation This was during my college years in the antelope Valley Well we never really did animate but I went onto become a graphic artist and use Photoshop and that came around and no matter the Bullwinkle and rocky show was incredibly influential to us college kids
After a really long time, I enjoyed listening to a full album.. brings back the nostalgia of a time when a whole album told a story with consistent definitive sound. What a great band with well matched musicians! Jim's voice and guitar works... and I am blown away by Sam's nifty fingers on the keys.. those bass pulls by Ron and so measured but expressive drums by Steven. This is awesome!
THE ROCKY AND BULLWINKLE SHOW IS SO TOTALLY 💯 AWESOME 🤩 BEAUTIFUL NOW THAT 🤩 ENTERTAINMENT KARI LEA RITA SUE RILEY WHEN I SAW 👀 A LITTLE GIRL 👧 BEAUTIFUL 😍
Remembering "Of Moose and Men: The Rocky & Bullwinkle Story" which first ever aired as part of KPBS' March 1991 Membership Campaign, Circa March 11, 1991!!
It seemed to be across the nation on PBS membership campaigns. As I noted in the summary, I got it from PBS in Connecticut during that same March 1991 time period.
I used to watch this Show when I was a kid before going to School. Then William Conrad who did the narration was also the Star of Cannon where so many Actors/Actresses got their Start who would become Stars on Shows lie Dallas, Falcon Crest, Knots Landing, The Young & The Restless. Jess Walton & Marj Dusay did multiple Guest Starring Roles who of course would work with each other on Capitol then Jess woudl play Jill Foster Abbot #7 on The Young & The Restless, while Marj would work on Santa Barbara, All My Children, but is probably best known for her role as Alexandra Spaulding #2 on Guiding Light.
at 58:34, my name is listed as "aurelia Brendan", after my twin sister aurelia and myself. My father marino amoruso wrote this documentary when i was 3 and used to always hide our names in the credits. the next name "WD Jesse" stands for our gordon setter, "Wonderful. Dog. Jesse"
Bill Scott was to Rocky & Bullwinkle what The Late Mel Blanc was to Warner Brothers. He didn't do as many voices but his name along with Casey Kasem (Shaggy Scooby Do).
Contrary to what you may have said Mr. Conrad life wasn't all fun and carefree. If you were a person of color you had it very hard. Nobody talked about Drug Abuse , Alcohol Abuse, Sexual Abuse and Domestic Violence and let's not forget if you were Gay, forget it. Hard to believe he would later play one of the most popular Detectives of the 1970's.
