No the person that built my units in bedroom made it for me I had a stroke in 2022, I am much better now and walking a bit better. Sewing is my main obsession now as I am not able to garden or dye yarn anymore.
Hi lovely video. Do u have a video to do to show some of the quilts? A suggestion. When u hold up a pattern, please hold it still for a few seconds, so we can read it all. Some I see your hand covered the name of it at the bottom. Tks and looking forward to more.
Hi, just found your channel, i was looking for some UK based quilters, Rachel popped up yesterday as a for you suggestion, then you today. I tried the lori holt Vintage farm book a couple of years ago, got the pattern book and loads of fabric, just never got round to doing much with it, doing 1 block a month may be a way of achieving rather than trying the whole thing in one go, may join you in a quilt along, thanks so much.
Hi Lynn, I’m so glad you found me. We would love you to sew along- even if it’s a different quilt. We can all motivate each other to sew and finish some blocks!! I have the Vintage Farm book too and haven’t started it yet either. Xxx
Looking forward to joining you on this. I haven't made anything like it before, but it does look impressive. Can I ask what glue you are using? I haven't any 'Sue glue' and would rather not buy anything else - do you thing Aleene's Tacky Glue would do?
Hi Deborah! Yes I am so pleased you are joining us!! I have ordered the Roxanne glue- it has a really fine tip to help with precision. But use what you have - you could maybe do a little test and see if it works. The glue is to hold the pieces in place while we sew them all together. If you’re glue works for that- you’re all set! Can’t wait until the 1st! Xxx
Loved your video, I have subscribed so looking forward to seeing more ❤ I’ve made the forest Floor table runner, it’s beautiful and I really enjoyed making it.
I’d second that with showing too much detail of the books and patterns. I like your enthusiasm about the kits etc., but designers could have a problem with this. A lot of podcasters will show the pictures but warn they are paid for patterns. Pleased that you’ve got so much out of your day at the Festival of Quilts, like Christmas it only happens once a year!
First time viewer here. Thanks for sharing your haul with us as well as sharing the prices. I'm in the US and it's always interesting to see some of the different quilting/EPP fabrics from across the pond and what everything costs. By the way, I'm a Lori Holt fan also.......you can never have too much of Lori Holt fabric. No judgement here from the number of kits you bought! Thx again! 🪡
Thanks so much!! I am meeting so many lovely quilters through RU-vid! I have a lot of Lori Holt fabrics and have been saving them for the perfect project- Lori Holt’s Home Town quilt is just the one- did you see my latest video introducing the sew along ? Might be something you fancy joining in on? Xxx
Hello I'm in the North West of England and I have come over from Rachel, am so excited by this. Please can you share where you purchase your Lori Holt supplies, so looking forward to trying this xxx
Hi! Thanks for coming over. I bought some of my fabric wholesale (I have an online quilt shop) and kept some back just for me. I bought a mixed bundle on Amazon a few years back which is where some of the smaller pieces are from and I got the layer cake “Autumn” from Missouri star. It’s quite hard to find the fabric here isn’t it. I am thinking about stocking it in my online shop here in the UK. Does that sound like a good idea? Xxx
@@kathrynmurphy8147I hope you don’t mind me mentioning but Angela from Happy Little Stitch shop in the USA has the shapes. If you want to join. This sounds like a fun sew along.
I bought the kit when this came out. Yesterday I was thinking of putting it on my calendar to start. I have some of it started but I have not cut out anything yet. So here’s my opportunity to start it and join someone I haven’t seen with. Happy sewing 😊 ~Martha California USA
Probably a little of both. Trying to finish up a few projects I would love to watch, start gathering the materials and templates. Would love to do this particular one as my first quilt. It’s lovely. In the meantime will be looking at Lauri’s, yours and Rachael’s sites and videos. And of course tuning in to your channels. Can’t wait!!
Hi Teresa! It’s such a fun quilt isn’t it! I can see myself making a few extra of the blocks too to go on my sewing room wall! Thanks for tuning in!! Xxx
Hi from Oklahoma! I am here from Rachel’s channel. I am a brand new quilter and I love Lori Holt. I will be following along, but not planning to make this quilt. I may pick up those shapes, though and make myself a little wall hanging. I really want to learn the appliqué technique. So nice to meet you through RU-vid!
So nice to meet you too! And hi from the UK!!! Feel free to follow along. We will hopefully inspire you to make a wallhanging (if not the whole quilt)! Xxxxx
I watched Rachel's video yesterday. I like to do it too but my worry is the templates. I will use my own stash. Do you mind if I ask you where did you bought thise templates? It is not easy for me to buy quilting notions here in Portugal. Although I found few obline shops, they don't stock those templates.
Please slow down! It is not a complaint, but you are such a joy and you move and speak so quickly I must stop often..Enjoy you so much but many of us are a bit slower than you when watching. Again , really like you, just a bit slower.
Hi Joanne, thank you so much for your honest feedback! I aim to get better and I need to know where I can improve. I will make sure I slow down in my next videos! Xxxxx
Hi... I just watched your video and really enjoyed it, thank you so much ....wow you got lots of beautiful fabrics and goodies....I so want to go to the festival of quilts, definitely going to go next year hopefully.....us quilters can never have enough fabrics....rulers....irons....lol My husband came in my workroom the other day and stood there and said "how many pairs of sissors do you have" I just pushed them under my fabric and changed the conversation....lol.... thank you again....Barbara ❤❤😊
Hi there! Thank you so much. I always love watching a good haul video and it was fun making my own! My husband knows better than to ask of if I have too much of anything related to my sewing hahahaha! So glad to have you here xxx
Thank you so much!! I don’t think there is much of a quilting culture here where we are in France for hols . I found one quilt shop but it’s hardly we’ve open. I have plenty though, so it’s not like o need any more lol xxx
Congratulations! You did a great job! Looking forward to more videos! Your quilt show haul was amazing! You shopped so many of the same kits & fabrics that I love!! I have been following Gail Pan for many years - I love her redwork, & patterns!!! Lynne Andersen too - her fabric, kits, & patters are wonderful! I am new to Jen Kingwell, but love her work as well! You have a lot to keep you very busy! I can’t wait to see what you do with everything! So much fun!!!
Hi we have to buy our fabric in metric here in the uk although we quilters use inches when cutting out 😂a yard is 36 inches ( approximately 91.5 cms )and a metre is 100 cms (which I believe is just over 39 inches.) hope that helps
Also in the US. It is not the same. The UK uses the metric system for measuring and the US uses the Imperial system. You can find calculators online to convert measurements from one system to another.
You did an amazing job with your first video. Kudos to you. 😊 I love all you choices. I love quilting but I'm still and probably as will be learning. Have a wonderful evening and I am excited to see more videos from you in the future. 🎉❤. Loves and Hugs ❤❤❤
You got so many amazing bits.. you will definitely have fun making these up! I’d love to learn more about quilting from templates from books like you purchased. Subscribed!!
