Vatican Got Talent. Our very own Archbishop of Manila - Luis Antonio of Manila, so humble and genuine with his faith as he leads choir in song with his God Given Talent. We are so blessed to have him :)
Ah don't sweat it brotha. We should all celebrate the new Pope. Cardinal Tagle just needs more seasoning. He will have his turn when he is ready, I truly believe that. What's great though is that he is recognized and acknowledged by his pears internationally.
Words by: Leslie Bricusse. Popular renditions by BJ Faulkner and Petula Clark (from the 1969 musical "Goodbye, Mr. Chips"). Archbishop Chito's rendition with OLP Cathedral Choir in December 12, 2009 "Horizons" is very subtle and relaxing, yet lifting both mind and heart to the Lord.
@urlady21 and as for your suggestion of him organizing concerts, I am pretty sure that he will be doing that. He loves to participate in benefit concerts in our diocese, like, 5x a year, and he will always be the "guest star" & other priests as the main stars. During the Christmas Eve mass last year, he & the other priests donned a santa cap & sang carols while 2nd collection is ongoing and he even jokingly said, "Nakakahiya mang gawin ay kailangang kapalan ang mukha bunga ng pangangailangan!"
@urlady21 I don't know if he actually plays any instrument but I'm sure he does! I was from his former diocese and he composed an arrangement of Ama Namin which we sing from time to time. And when he celebrates masses, he beautifully sings along with the choir live,on the mic! He really has a heart of a musician.
Obispo namin yan! At magiging Arsobispo na nating lahat! I am so proud of Archbishop Chito, soon to be Cardinal Chito. I almost cried when he said his "farewell" to the Diocese of Imus during his installation today. "Please remember me as loving you," he said. Good bye Bishop. We Caviteños will miss you so much. It's just too bad that Vatican didn't approve to extend you to be with us til the end of the year. Now the upcoming Christmas Eve Midnight Mass at Imus Cathedral will never be the same.
maybe the Church bishops/archbishops should organize a concert. given that Pope Benedict XVI is an accomplished pianist, and many bishops/archbishops (like Archbishop Tagle) can sing really well, this isn't a bad idea.
All the best....always...our prayers all for you Most Rev. Luis Antonio "Chito" G. Tagle, D.D.,S.Th.D., Bishop of Imus...and now Archbishop of Manila ....God BLESS po
Super like!!! Sana po mainvite no OLP Cathedral Choir sina Christian Bautista, Marcelito Pomoy & Bernadette Sembrano-Aguinaldo as guest soloists for their succeeding performances.
