@dustinsrandomness best thing you can do is look where you want to go. You'd be surprised how much it helps. If you look at where your gonna crash that's where your gonna go. If you look where you want to go that's where you will go. Old man taught me that years ago an it seriously works

I'm not sure if what you said would have helped or not, I've never ridden a bike, But I do know you're almost certainly correct that he psyched himself out lol. Thinking "i'm fcked i'm fcked i'm fcked'' is a waste of time and energy, right up until the very moment it's already happened you need to stay focused on what you can do. if you feel any thoughts creeping into your head like "i'm gonna crash" "Nothing I can do" or anything of that sort, you need to block that shit out instantly and try to redirect it to something constructive. obviously it's hard to practice doing that for a crash without actually crashing, because it's very different, but it is a very important skill in basically everything we do, And if you're the type of person to have those negative thoughts often, I promise you will surprise yourself with the things you never knew you could do if you just learn to suppress it and focus on maneuvering through the moment.
